Any recommended plugins for allowing user to subscribe by category

I was using this one for a project but then they stopped supporting it https://wordpress.org/plugins/subscribe-to-category/ . And most articles seem to suggest this one but it’s got the security issue. Any alternatives for this? I’d like for the user to be able to select a list of blog categories that they can get alerts for when there’s a new post for the category.
