Hello, we’ve set up a Divi gallery so that when some of the images are clicked, a popup appears. The popups/links seem to be working great when you first click on the images under the “ALL” tab, but then once I click on any category (or back to the “ALL” tab after this), it stops working.

Here’s the page I’m referring to: https://new2.rebelteam.co/portfolio/ When you first load the page, you’ll be able to click on the images in the first few rows—these individual popups will show. Now if you try clicking on one of the categories “CREATIVE, PHOTO, WEBSITES”—and one of the same images from before—it stops working. It’s like once you click on the tab, the entire thing breaks. Could you help us resolve this? We reached out to the plugin’s support for our gallery integration, and they told us to reach out to you.

    Thanks!

After looking into this and looking at the page source—it looks like the “data-trigger-click=[cssid]” is removed once the tabs are clicked, which we need for the popups to keep working.

This is what the code looks like before any filter has been applied:

And this is what the code looks like after a filter/tab has been applied:

Do you know how we can we fix this so that it doesn’t remove this data trigger click?

    Hi @kayliparks,

Thank you for reaching out to us. I apologize for the delay in the response and update.

I checked and confirmed your issue.
    See here: https://share.getcloudapp.com/jkuA5QYB

For your information, I have already reported your issue to our development team to investigate further and confirm the cause.

There appears to be a compatibility issue with the latest “Divi Gallery Extended” plugin update. However, I still need to confirm, as I am still following with the development team about the issue.

I will update you as soon as I get confirmation from our development team.

    Workaround:
You can switch to our “Divi Areas Pro” plugin, which has multiple features and integrations available. Further, it also has different popup triggers and behaviors that will help you achieve your desired results.

I hope this information helps. Please do not hesitate to ask any further questions. Thank you.

    Dear plugin Authors,

I have the same issue with Divi Blog module. As soon as I update filter, popup stops working. Looking forward fixing this.

    Thank you in advance!

    Hi Kayli,

Thanks for taking the time to report those limitations here.

Here is how our plugin works (and most other Popup plugins): when your website first loads, our plugin, Popups for Divi, is checking the contents of your page and attaches itself to relevant elements (i.e. gallery images or blog post items). This is what allows the popups to display when you first click on the images.

However, when you click on one of the categories (like “Creative” or “Websites”), the gallery- or blog-module uses a JavaScript to modify the content of the current page: It shuffles the images around, and filters what you see. Unfortunately, our plugin isn’t currently able to re-attach itself after those modifications.

It’s like a seating plan: When the page loads, our plugin knows where all the “people” (i.e. images) sit and which Popup is linked to them. But when the visitor filters the gallery, it’s like the people switch seats or leave the room – our plugin loses track of which guest is linked to which Popup.

This is a known limitation of our plugin, and we’re looking into ways to improve this. For now, though, the popups will work best with static images that aren’t shuffled around after the page loads.

I hope that helps! Let me know if there’s anything else you’re curious about.
