\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\tPrime Video has released the first trailer for “Blade Runner 2099,” marking the return of Ridley Scott’s sci-fi franchise nine years after the film “Blade Runner 2049.”<\/p>\n\n\n\n\n\tStarring Oscar winner Michelle Yeoh and “Euphoria” breakout star Hunter Schafer as its leads, “Blade Runner 2099” is a limited series taking place after the events of both the original “Blade Runner” and the “2049” sequel. Denis Villeneuve’s “2049” continued Scott’s story with original star Harrison Ford back as protagonist Rick Deckard and Ryan Gosling as the replicant blade runner named K. <\/p>\n\n\n\n\n\tIn “2099,” Yeoh plays Olwen, a replicant grappling with the end of her life, while Schafer plays Cora, a human who is on the run from Blade Runners. In the trailer, we see Olwen and Cora team up in the war between replicants and humans. As the cinematic comes to a close, Olwen tells Cora, “The old world forever fights to come back. Humans want what was taken from them. But it’s our time now.”<\/p>\n\n\n\n\n\tThe “Everything Everywhere All at Once” star is joined by series regulars Dimitri Abold (\u201cThe Hunger Games: The Ballad of Songbirds & Snakes\u201d) and Lewis Gribben (\u201cSomewhere Boy\u201d). Recurring guest star roles include Katelyn Rose Downey (\u201cThe Nun II\u201d), Daniel Rigby (\u201cRenegade Nell\u201d), Johnny Harris (\u201cA Gentleman In Moscow\u201d), Amy Lennox (\u201cOnly Child\u201d), Sheila Atim (\u201cThe Woman King\u201d) and Matthew Needham (\u201cHouse of the Dragon\u201d).<\/p>\n\n\n\n\n\t“Blade Runner 2099” was largely shot in Czech Republic at Prague’s Barrandov Studios<\/a>, with additional production also taking place in Barcelona. Film United handled production in Prague. <\/p>\n\n\n\n\n\tSilka Luisa, known for her work on “Shining Girls,” serves as showrunner and executive producer. Ridley Scott, who directed the original “Blade Runner,” will executive produce along with David W. Zucker and Clayton Krueger of Scott Free Productions. Jonathan van Tulleken, known for helming two episodes of “Sh\u014dgun<\/a>” and “Dope Thief,” is set to direct the first two episodes.<\/p>\n\n\n\n\n\t“Blade Runner 2099” will premiere on Prime Video on November 25.
