Mmm; I have tried after a fresh reboot of the PC to assert it again, and quite surprisingly the "clanking sounds" isn’t there anymore... But another day, it is "coming back". It can barely be heard at times, but then is "strikingly present" (it is happening when eating non-stop/10ish pellets in turbo-mod).
Judging from the variety of it all, it seems it is the sound engine that "stacks or re-launch" a repetitive sound badly like i saw in other games (when a sound is stopped and another goes over it etc...) Hope it is only my PC here and not a all-around bug.
By the way, do you plan on updating "Random Lady-pac" with the same great options any days? (holding my breath is only good for snorkeling! ʕ◉ᴥ◉ʔ haha)
Squishing bugz AND adding some fruity features at the SAME time?! ʕ✪ᴥ✪ʔ Way to gooo!
Wait, the options are AmAzInG in v1.7! (TY for the "one shot" mode & "H" Push speed-hack; it works very well!) 5 Mazes forms, variable colors or not, symmetrical Mazes or not, even random seeds?! I think this game is 2times better now! (high scores for all game/lives mode too!)
Thank you for all that! I appreciate it much! ʕづ•ᴥ•ʔづ♥ (Bonus level are way more fun at that point!) Time for some colorful survival Random-Pac!
---------
PS: i notice a strange repetitive "clank" sound when eating pellet lines in turbo mode (pushing H or Toggled by G, no difference whatsoever), that wasn't there in v1.6. (it seems a sound stacking, or looping, but not sure). Not too disturbing, but seems an audio bug.
Yes, it was (the woman thing) a metaphor for asking a coder/dev to change "all his algo" for something else... ha Yes, if it is already here somewhere (same game but C64 port) i guess it is a question of "implementing it" in another version, and not just being very rude to a coder. Got it. You are in the safe zone Mister TCMOE. ʕ⚆ᴥ⚆ʔ
I checked the C64 port (never had that computer/console, had an Atari 2600 and then a NES in europe... so no emulator for that one) and the options seems nice (symmetrical maze or not, 5 walls design etc...even have native random colors for mazes & pellets!). Yes i understand now where the comments here came from, people wants all that goodness for PC. I do too i guess. (PC is my main collection for Pacman series; even if have a few NES & SuperNES/Megadrive games, like the Tengen series)
Maybe create a "fund-me page" ("Kickstarter" and the likes) with a price goal, and if many people wants it and pay a little (for a future copy etc...) it could be made by the dev with motivation. (i myself would put 10$ on it, even just if "survival & press-speedkey"is done on the next version of RandomPac & RandomLadyPac, just to thank the dev for the effort... and give back for amazing 3 free PC ports & 2 C64 (that i don't use, the graphics and scroll-maze are not my thing, and i have no nostalgia on a console i don't know about evidently.) of the best random-pacman games i ever played.
a mario in a pac-man level is interesting gameplay! (i see now what the random pong in it add!)
The "pipes" don't seem to work; are they only decorative only? (i tried pressing down, space, enter/e etc...)
Ho i get it now! (for the pipes) Hilarious to see a mushroom in here! X'D It is also funny to jump unto ghost's head to "blue them"! :-D
A fun 10m to clear the level for sure!
An option to have a random "dark & saturated" curated color for the next maze (in the old-school style of pac-man1 always) could be nice. (some pacman 1 fan would not like it i'm afraid, so an option may be best here..)
Personally, i like way better that LC-algo for a random non-symmetrical maze. Could be an option to randomize more symmetrically for some people liking it but... why request a copy of what already exist somewhere else? ʕ⚆ᴥ⚆ʔ
Try asking a woman "yeah good, but can you change your face, clothes and hairstyle to be more like my ex? thankx" and see how it goes. ʕ ᵔᴥᵔ ʔ
"Don't give pearls to pig" i guess... , but there are some good options (the "rewritten series" for example that i'm a fan off) for standard/standardized mazes... so i don't know what's "not to like" here, unless disliking a random-maze for each turn! (but that is the point in your version for true variety! ʕ◔ᴥ◔ʔ ) "If you don't like pickles, don't go get some in the jar silly!" i would tell them.
An interesting idea would be to make optional "seed run" (as opposed as right now "truly random/ephemeral mazes"), like some "rogue-lite/like indie games" nowadays. It means that giving the game a "number for seed" for the randomization would always returns the exact same sequence of mazes to play with! So some players would maybe like the design/sequence of a run/mazes, and copy the seed (or try at random entering a simple seed like "008" or something at the start or in the option to "seed the run") and try to "win it"! (like my idea; a survival of only 1 life to go to map n°5/10/X or whatnot... or just beat their high-score etc...)
Yes, for the "speed boost"; it would play way better! (could be an option to "toggle/press" the speed-hack, but another press-key is fine too to map it easily on Joy2key)
And Yes, for the 1 to 5 lives (having just the one life we begin with for "survival" is an interesting quick-play with randomize mazes! 'till you die! Oups!)
Thanks for considering it! ʕづ•ᴥ•ʔづ♥ (would love that on your "RANDOM miss-pacman version" too by the way. Pacmania is not my jam, but maybe on that too for continuity in a later date ʕ◉ᴥ◉ʔ )
Cool looking game! (great chill ambiance overall!) I like the "sector approach/gameplay", quite unique. (the continuous score-system is nice too, like in "pacman-256" a little)
The movements are very fluid! (which is a must have in those "pac-man games"! Many botches that up)
Is there a Fullscreen mode that i don't know of? (i try pressing keys, but nothing so far... pushing P seems to make the game in slow-mo mode for example)
I encounter a bug/strangeness. In the bonus stages (ghost or fruits) the "G" (speedhack key) isn't toggleable/working. (it is set up like/from the previous maze and can't be changed during these). (FIXED in v1.7)
If possible in further version, i would also like a "pressing-key speedhack" on a key (maybe S, or H next to G for the toggleable one?) like the Tengen version of PM; to be able to speed-up when pressed and slow-down when released. (it is how i play the speed thing; even if a simple toggle works with training, it is way harder!)
I tried to emulate "press to speed" with Joy2Key (which is what i use to map keyboard keys on games with my old USB twin PlayStation adaptor) with a special press-release function to do that, but it doesn't work sadly. ʕ◉ᴥ◉ʔ
I also play a lot of "survival" (1 live only) on those classic games for short session, and i would be happy to see it in the option menu. (1/survival => (maybe 2 too at that point?) => 3/normal=> 4 => 5/easy) with a leaderboard/topscore for it! ʕ✦ᴥ✦ʔ
Keep up the good work!
Good music & auto theme swap for the game! (i hope for some options to not have dancing pellet though...) The variety of ghosts and power ups is refreshing too!
I appreciate the team survival in a coop-arcade game (wish i could use a cpu to have fin there!)
The Versus is awesome with multiple players, even CPU that are not bad! But i have a bad issue where the game lags more and more at 10 to 30s into the Versus (when the first pwer-up appears, the lage begins it seems, and it is worse after that with time)... it is almost unplayable like that (the frames jumps 1 or 2 sometimes, etc...) and a bummer. I tried the 2 version (rev3 and original) and both does that. I tried putting the process to High, same thing, so it is an optimization thing. (i have a PC with a AMD Ryzen 3 1200 ; 4 cores; 12 Go of DDR4 Ram ; a AMD Radeon RX 560 (Polaris 21 XT) [MSI] 4Go for video card... on a MSI A320M PRO-VD PLUS (MS-7B38) motherboard... so not really bad for light games)
Is there something i can do to prevent that?! (i would like to play little battle-royal with CPU and friends sometimes!)
That is interesting to play! I played a lot of pacman remixes games over the years, and this one is surprisingly good!
You respected the old school graphics and gameplay, but added undertale/RPG mecanics to it and it is very cool to play! Well done. I had fun. (its kinda hard! i loved the random multiple attacks of the 3 ghosts!)
free ideas:
Kniting "eating the dot" into the fighting-gameplay to make reappear the pac-gum to hit the enemy (like in the DX series when finishing a loop-run to go to the next), and chasing some/multiple moving fruits to gain a life back (each fruit could give 1/2 or 1/3 of a life) could be the hard mode; or toward a full-fledged game with those mecaniscs!
I second Cornholio opinion totally!
It is by far my prefered game of the pacman series; and the randomized twist is delightful! (and i always wanted to play with more ghosts too!The speed hack is very welcomed... and the bonus stage... OMG: that is a proper challenging/fun bonus stage! ʕ♥ᴥ♥ʔ ) Big thank to you for all that!
Yes Yes Yes! Glad to see the awesome progress here! <3
Furniture in our base? Yesh, plyz! ʕ✧ᴥ✧ʔ (half-grid, or maybe "two/four small objects on a tile"? seem a great idea to decorate and smooth the layout of the base!)
Quick multi-harvesting is very fun too! ʕ•̫͡•ʕ•̫͡•ʔ•̫͡•ʔ
Great ideas here as always!
I wonder what will be the cats' re-spawn mechanism!? ₍ᐢ•ﻌ•ᐢ₎
Maybe a ghost goes to/in the landing-capsule (not used in game really, so why not!?) and "magic! it goes out alive and opens the door! Me Again!" lol. Ultra Funny.
Free ideas from a fan:
The capsule (in order to not be discarded right after landing, which is sad/a_waste! it glows in the dark but...)
-should give a short range proxy-icon for the suit-gui to go towards... to have utility at the start of the game IMO! Losing the base in panic at the start is lethal... forgetting about the map key or feature! Yes, i died to that already!)
-should also deliver 5+ unit of power to build around (it glows in the dark so, there is power inside! lol) so just enough juice for survival: to have an airlock and a ventilated room for oxygen (without needing a plant bio-reactor, with a free cable somewhere in the supplies for convenience/placing...)
I recommend this absolute gem on itch.io, if you don't know about that:

Thank me later! ʕ✧ᴥ✧ʔ
Hoo that is GREAT! My little dreams (to share this casual game with friends!) are becoming a reality! Good luck with the fun/job! ₍ᐢ•ﻌ•ᐢ₎
Here is a free idea: a crashed octopus friend on the moon that give you little quests to fulfill (like a NPC) in order to have chosen rewards (like an item apart from the tech-tree, or deep in it) to spice up the gameplay. ʕ♡ᴥ♡ʔ
[=> Mine me 15 uranium and you can choose between a crystal lamp, 20 hearty meal OR an auto-crafter! something like that! lol
[get me 25 scraps and you can haz 3 orange-tree seeds, 9 uranium OR a paintbrush to customise the color of modules!]
[get me 5 grilled steaks/artefacts, and i would give you a free air-tank every day here, a better scrap conversion of 2 to 1 iron here, or a free chocolate speed boost bar every day!] ... something to iron out some bottleneck in the gameplay so.
It could even be a way to collect all random artefacts purposefully (to get it out of the planet as a second goal to the game for hard fans) to drag the story after completing all of it for the cat (like i do often) and use current vehicle and bases for a wider purpose (it is hard to do with random luck each time we scan an artefact to complete them all!).
The fun could be real! (basically it gives something to do purposefully apart & after the main mission; the octopuss [get it?!] friend could have a story and a mission too, and you help it get it done along with you! (for easy added hours of gameplay!)
i would like too (in future version) to skip the intermissions (rather long, and we watch it with interest a couple of times really; no need for a forced pause like in the "acarde cabinet" time, with the pause menu on PC) when pushing the power/boost button if possible.
(a feature like "push Z to skip" in the right corner like some games)
In the first 10m of my windows game, i pass through 3 blue/scared ghosts already (instead of eating them, often with boost ON... and most of the times when blue ghosts were coming toward me... for reproducibility; then later, phased one red ghost in lethal form frontally too, so it is not only their "scared forms"! ʕᵔᴥᵔʔ)
It seems the collision behavior need a bit of tweaking still (in the 1.0)
(it didn't occur when playing Pac-Man & Pac-Man+ Rewritten... even if natively these games has some exploit i have read/seen with a "one pixel precision phase-through"; from memory, it has been corrected in Ms-Pacman and are impossible because the hit box has been enlarged or something similar.)
But overall, a great game for PC! thankx a lot! (feel & look even better than "Tengen Ms pac-man ROMs" on all console for 1P play! SNES version has 2D/3D enhanced graphics and 2P but still! Classic look here is impeccable! ʕ♡ᴥ♡ʔ)
