Free food distribution
Since 2010, Cuyahoga County Public Library has collaborated with the Greater Cleveland Food Bank to distribute free food to those in need. Today, these services include weekly mobile food pantries, monthly Senior Boxes, Kids Cafe after-school meals and Summer Lunches, both for children of all ages, including kindergarteners through seniors in high school.
How our Mobile Food Pantries work
From April through September, CCPL will continue to hold drive-up Mobile Food Pantries featuring fresh produce. These first-come, first-served events require no pre-registration (registration will be completed on site). Supported in part through generous funding from GE HealthCare, all CCPL Mobile Food Pantry distributions will be held from 1:30 - 3 PM and follow this weekly schedule:

Senior Boxes
New in 2026, CCPL is adding Senior Boxes to its distribution services. These specially curated boxes contain cheese and shelf-stable food items, including juice, powdered milk, canned meats, and canned vegetables. Participants in the Senior Box program are limited to one box per month and must: be 60 years of age or older; register in advance; complete an application that includes income information; and collect boxes from the same single location each month. Applications are available at participating CCPL branches (please see the list below). Based on location, Senior Boxes will be distributed on different days and times at these CCPL branches:
