Tales from the Psychiatry I was admitted to psychiatry several times, beginning at age 15. I thought the experiences might be worth sharing, so here is what I witnessed in the youth unit. The “Nazi” Hip‑Hopper A patient who identified as a Christian Nazi Hip-Hopper believed that God would forgive him no matter what he did. He once urinated into an apple‑juice bottle that someone later drank. During a conversation about vacations, he learned that the Thai currency is called a “baht,” which sounds like “bud” (marijuana).

Why we need the Darknet

The Darknet Isn’t Just for Criminals You’ve probably heard scary stories: “The darknet is where drugs and hackers live. Some of that is true, but it’s like saying “the internet is only for p0rn and scams.” The darknet is just a corner of the internet built for one thing: nobody can see who you are or where you are. Imagine you could walk into a library wearing a perfect disguise — no ID, no cameras, no questions.

Winter

The winter seemed never-ending, and the pack was dying of hunger. The leader of the pack, the oldest of them all, was out in front comforting the young wolves, telling them that spring was coming, but at a certain point, one young wolf decided to stop. He says he has had enough of cold and hunger, and he says he is going to live among men because the important thing is to stay alive.

Why we need the Fediverse

The Online Saftey Act I anticipate that the Online Safety Act, or similar legislation, will increasingly be adopted by countries worldwide and in various forms. This could lead to individuals face home raids for posting critical statements, remarks perceived as offensive and memes on social media. Even before such laws, there were cases of authorities raiding homes in Germany for insults like calling a politician a “Schwachkopf” (idiot) or in the UK for criticizing grooming gangs.

Linux TUI Software

TUI (Text User Interface) programs are interactive command-line applications commonly used on Linux and other systems. They often rely on libraries like ncurses or dialog for functionality. While I don’t use many TUI programs regularly, I can’t do without the following: VIM Vim is a text editor that works seamlessly on both headless servers and desktop environments. My Vim configuration is quite basic but gets the job done. I haven’t felt the need to create anything elaborate, partly because I’m lazy and prefer a consistent experience across all my servers.

Browsing and Email

Hey, Here i ´d like to show how I do my Browsing and do E-Mails, Calendar and Contacts Since Mozilla becomes more and sinister, I switched to Librewolf and Betterbird. The Firefox Browser collects and sells now userdata, they add more and more antifeatures, also they don’t listen, what the userbase wants. Thunderbird is going a similar path. They integrate their new E-Mail Service within their Client Application and have issues open for years, which Betterbird already has implemented.
