Background & Legacy:
Dr. Suga-T Stevens, famously known as Suga-T, is the first lady of the legendary family music group, The Click, a trailblazing Bay Area hip-hop dynasty. Celebrated for redefining independent success, The Click became a global phenomenon with multiple gold and platinum albums and one of the largest joint ventures in history with Jive Records—setting a blueprint for independent artistry and entrepreneurship.
Early Foundations:
Raised in Vallejo, CA, Suga-T started her journey in entrepreneurship at just 8 years old, mentored by her grandfather. By 11, she owned her first business. Her musical foundation was laid through church, guided by her aunts, mother, and father, who nurtured her talent as an adolescent.
Music & Career Milestones:
Helped build Sick Wid It Records alongside her family, driving the success of The Click, which featured her brothers E-40 and D-Shot, and cousin B-Legit.
Collaborated with icons like 2Pac, Ce Ce Penniston, Roger of Zapp, and others.
Over 20 solo albums and 5 group albums, maintaining relevance in underground, commercial, and independent circles.
Pioneered a globally influential independent music movement, revered for her trailblazing role in 90s hip-hop and R&B and recently received another BMI Award Accolade.
