<title>Building an AI Vision Search Engine with MySQL HeatWave GenAI</title>
<content type="html">Modern AI systems increasingly rely on multimodal data: text, images, documents, audio, and video. Among these modalities, image understanding has become one of the most important capabilities for AI-powered applications. Traditionally, implementing these capabilities required specialized computer vision infrastructure, external vector databases, custom ML pipelines, and multiple frameworks.
With MySQL HeatWave GenAI, many of these capabilities can now be implemented directly inside SQL workflows using built-in AI routines. In this article, we will build the foundations of a Vision Model Evaluation Assistant using MySQL HeatWave GenAI.</content>

<title>Build an AI-Powered Search Engine with HeatWave GenAI - Semantic Search Capabilities with Large Language Models</title>
<content type="html"> In this presentation, we'll see how to go beyond the limits of traditional SQL to harness the power of LLM-driven semantic search.
This approach significantly enhances the relevance of search results by understanding context, interpreting user intent, and handling synonyms.
During this session, we’ll cover:
 - The technology stack used: SQL, Python, and JavaScript-based stored procedures
 - The architecture of a complete RAG (retrieval-augmented generation) pipeline, including data extraction, vectorization, storage, and querying within the database
 - The process of building a conversational agent (chatbot) for natural language interaction with the AI

Discover how to implement a powerful, AI-enhanced semantic search engine directly within Oracle HeatWave GenAI.

<title>MySQL Security - From Data Protection to Regulation Compliance with Enterprise Edition</title>
<content type="html">MySQL security guidelines &amp; best practices in order to minimize your database attack surface

+ Regulations
    – GDPR, General Data Protection Regulation: Protection of Personal Data
    – PCI – DSS: Payment Card Data
    – HIPAA: Privacy of Health Data
    – Sarbanes Oxley, GLBA, The USA Patriot Act:
    – Financial Data, NPI "personally identifiable financial information"
    – FERPA – Student Data
    – Data Protection Act (UK): Protection of Personal Data

+ Requirements
    – Continuous Monitoring (Users, Schema, Backups, etc)
    – Data Protection (Encryption, Privilege Management, etc.)
    – Data Retention (Backups, User Activity, etc.)
    – Data Auditing (User activity, etc.)

Regulations require these Security Steps:
+ Assess:
    - Locate Risks and Vulnerabilities, Ensure necessary security controls
+ Prevent:
    - Using Cryptography, User Controls, Access Controls, etc...
+ Detect:
    - Still a possibility of a breach – so Audit, Monitor, Alert
+ Recover:
    - Ensure service is not interrupted as a result of a security incident
    - Even through the outage of a primary database
    - Forensics – postmortem – fix vulnerability

    <title>[Oracle Data Week 2023] - MySQL HeatWave Lakehouse - Modernize MySQL &amp; non-MySQL workloads with MySQL HeatWave</title>
<content type="html">MySQL HeatWave enables users to process and query hundreds of terabytes of data in the object store—in a variety of file formats, such as CSV, Parquet, and Aurora/Redshift export files.
The data remains in the object store and customer can query it with standard SQL syntax.
With this capability, MySQL HeatWave provides one service for transaction processing, analytics across data warehouses and data lakes, and machine learning—without ETL across cloud services.
There is no additional cost for this capability except the cost of storing the data in object store.</content>
