Overview
The UFAS Equity & Diversity Committee (EDC) formed in the summer of 2020 to work toward creating a more equitable environment at UW-Madison and envision a future without law enforcement on campus. So far, the EDC has focused its work on UWPD’s presence and influence on campus safety.
We seek to bring transparency about UWPD’s operations on campus and in the community, to find and suggest alternatives to campus policing, and to build community around policing issues.
The UFAS EDC initiated the Abolition UW coalition. Anyone and any organization on or off campus is welcome to join to help get #CopsOffCampus.
