19·12 hours agoI love the scene in Babylon 5 when Captain Sinclair fights an aincent alien bio robot thing having awoken and started rampaging on the apace station.
The bio robot was created to enforce biological purity in an old alien race and would kill anyone not pure enough.
During the fight scene Captain Sinclair makes a passioned speech about how just how extremism is by definition never satisfied.
The feddiverse is interesting, you can post on one service and read it through a completely different service, not even running on the same server.
It is pretty amazing.

Several data canters have been built in smaller communities in Sweden, who with the promise of jobs granted the DC operator low electricity bills and other advantages.
The jobs never really materialized, which as an IT guy makes perfect sense.
Once the DC is built and integrated in the infrastructure of the operator, 98% of all tasks can be done remotely.
You don’t really need to go into the DC and touch the servers all that often.
Just as most Americans who have moved to other countries refuse to call themselves immigrants, and default to calling themselves “expats”, most don’t seem to get that, no.

You are indeed correct, I got several messages at the same time when I got this and only skimmed it at the time so I missed it.
I was also annoyed at the other replies talking about the name being on a plaque next to the medal when I asked for the medal itself.
So confusion and a slight annoyance contributed to the misunderstanding.
Sorry about that.
Well obviously we need a centralized mission management that is run in the cloud, together with a comprehensive monitoring solution.
We need to assure our partners that their product is safe and that it will achieve mission success before departing port.
Letting an icebreaker depart port without doing this would just be inviting disaster.
