I’m sure it’s not unique to getting old as there could be other causes, but for me it’s been that my grip strength wanes and I drop things pretty regularly now. I used to fence and sword spar and I had gotten used to barely holding things so I wouldn’t break them. Now if I’m not thinking about it, things just kind of fall out of my hands. Very weird thing to realize.

LEGO@piefed.social•Lego announces Smart Brick, the ‘most significant evolution’ in 50 yearsEnglish
23·12 days agoPlastic is not evil. Single use plastic is. Lego is anything but single use. I’m a little disappointed they’re still using plastic bags in their packaging, hopefully that’ll stop soon. I’ll reserve judgement on these being e-waste till we see how they’re used, if they’re used, if they’re planned obsolescence, etc.

I see the issue. Bluetooth hasn’t been invented yet. Please wait 2-3 decades and try again.

There’s only a billion possible nine digit number. There’s no algorithm to them. There might have been some level of regional allocation since my sister and I have the same first 3 digits, but I doubt that’s still a thing. Also TINs issued to corporate entities also draw from that numbering system, so there are significantly less than a billion possible SSNs
There’s about 350 million people in the US.
Just make up a nine digit number that doesn’t start with an 9 (IIRC TINs use the range of numbers starting with 9) and you have a better than 1 in 3 chance of getting it right.
