Removed Comment No, it’s far easier to say washing the backyard than to list the dozen items. You don’t say you’re washing your car panels with a pressure washer when you say washing your car. People know you’re also not doing the inside as well. So your argument is plain wrong. If you’re doing it with a hose, there’s no better term. Sorry a normal term is confusing since you think entire backyard lawns are normal across the world. by SchmidtGenetics@lemmy.world

Removed Comment I said "wash my yard" makes sense but it sounds weird, not that it was harder to say. But now that I think about it, I wouldn't say I washed my patio if all I did was hose it down. Sorry a normal comment is such a trigger for you since you think the right reply is a patronizing rant over something so stupid. Be sure to include your face next time you wash your yard, you could use a cold shower by glimse@lemmy.world

Removed Comment It’s only weird because you’re used to backyards that entirely exist of lawn, which isn’t the norm. People when they say “yard work” that means they have a lawn, that’s the only context that’s ever used, if you have plants, you say you’re gardening instead. So your term of yard work, actually doesn’t work for the majority of the world, since they lack a lawn. Sorry reality makes you look foolish. by SchmidtGenetics@lemmy.world

Removed Comment Great! Now that we've established that you disagree with how I'm phrasing things, we can establish that you're kind of douchebag for coming coming out swinging after an innocuous reply. Nothing I said in that comment deserved vitriol. Get a grip. by glimse@lemmy.world
