If the developer truly believes in quality and fairness, then they will switch.

What about cognitive understanding because those are very specific fields that logically wouldn’t be the strong focal points for cs professionals compared to the other professionals in the chats?.

This why you just stay within the realm of our pure open source.

Vim, neoVim and emacs. Lean to use in combination with other tools like tmux and you have an excellent working environment. These are tools that are contributed to by the best of the best OGs out there.

I’m late to this but how do you guys feel about garagehq and seaweeds?

Let’s just settle in the obvious that there was no way this video was over going to pass and they were going to find any means necessary to sack it.

These things should not be protected property. If you assault my privacy, I should be allowed to attack back.

You’re doing fine. I built a couple social media type sites in raw PHP over 15 years ago. They never went anywhere but they did help get my foot in the door at a couple dev shops back in the day.

Years later I rewrote them in codeigniter. So that’s about all the advice I can give because I’m certain that my sites had security holes in them too.

Reading your experience took me down memory lane. Thanks for the throwback.

Question. Do you echo 50 lines of html where only few instances of php are needed? That seems like madness.

I always thought that scp was more secure than rsync. I remember back in the day when I “graduated” to scp from rsync. So in reality, did I regress?

Your statement defies supply and demand. Maybe take an economics course.

I spent a good couple minutes trying to figure out what the illegal crab company is. I might need glasses.

At this point I’m starting to wonder if Canonical is in the Epstein files.

Thanks. Looks like Microsoft is getting their dirty hands in Toyota. Good to know now that I’m looking at trucks.

Windows UX is just one giant cluster of dark patterns.

Yeah but everyone in the files are no surprise. Linus would definitely be surprising. You can probably picture everyone that is in the files and you will probably be correct.

You probably already know this but you have to expand the dates of your search because it saves the email content securely on your hard drive before searching.

There are some quirks to get used to on both but neither are off-putting.

I don’t like the scrolling on either and think the message box defaults too small sharing space with too much other stuff. But it’s the same in both platforms.

Yeah I’m still waiting on it to drop back to 8 dollars

Found no reason to subject myself to the jvm and corporate ethos once rust came out but Scala was pretty sweet for the hot second I was using it

My laptop is encrypted but once it’s open I turn the password off because I just get tired of typing the password every time I sit down. I’m not too worried about people in my house digging into my laptop. Text messages OTOH, is a whole other level.

Proton has almost the same feel and layout.

I keep a librewolf browser with a profile named BS that I use for logging into these services. You could do something like that to log into these services once every few months to keep it active until you’re ready to completely let go.

And btw, most of these services are open source. Although it would have been nice to see peertube on there

What’s wrong with their desktop application? I remember using it 5 to 7 years ago and it seemed fine. I just found out to be weird to keep my text messages on a computer that anybody can see that might use my computer so I quit using the desktop version.

These strikes don’t really work. If you’re stocking up in anticipation then you’re not really striking because you still contributed a day earlier.

A better option would to just go local.

As someone who had different the heart decade converting like nobody to signal unless they’re talking to me and even then it’s like pulling teeth, I completely agree. Trust NOBODY.

Republicans were never really about states rights. They were only about THEIR rights.

If you’re in a jvm or Microsoft heavy environment then maybe so.

Yep just looked it up. Today is not nearly as bad as Network. Network is like a mosquito.

Probably the same company that owns the USA network. Watching shows on that network will make you want throw your tv out the window. 6 minute ads per 4.5 minutes of show time. Their ads just keep gooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooing. And yes. That’s how absurd they are.

At one of my old jobs I had many people using it for group chat. I’ll text them years later every once in a while and whenever they get a new phone, signal doesn’t make the cut.

I see it as a danger to our society because I tell them it’s the most secure thing they have in their phone but then they don’t care and will sometimes even use less secure alternatives in what seems like mockery. Very eye opening.

Never said he should be president now. That was 10 years ago. I’ve been following Bernie since the bush years and I was in his 2016 campaign.

I actually wish he would quit caucusing with them and go back to completely independent but then he would be powerless.

The Democratic leadership is actually less democratic then Republicans. At least the Republicans honor the primary process. The current Democratic leadership needs to be ousted or we’re going to have another trump.
