Valve doing more of a Steam Deck push with their Steam Deck Verified game pages

Valve are still pushing their Steam Deck ahead with many developers now adding their own special dedicated Steam Deck Verified page.

These special areas on Steam give an uncluttered page that highlights how well a game can run on Steam Deck, it’s a really neat idea to help cut through the noise. Just the game, a trailer and a link to the store page for the Steam Deck and for the game. This gives developers an easy link to advertise that their game is fully supported on the Linux powered Steam Deck.

that’s super smart, actually. and might help indie titles get some love on the deck.

I’d be surprised if any serious indie devs weren’t trying their best to be Deck verified. Its such an obvious way to go for more visibility.

and sold, as well. easier to just grab when you see the little checkmark. and you don’t have to wonder. or search lists or forum threads for compatibility.

God forbid Valve push their great product

I have several Windows games that Steam, with Proton, runs amazingly well on Linux.

There’s only 2 games in my library that just straight do not work. And one is due to anticheat. Could probably get the other one working, just kinda lazy.

I have a spare drive with windows so I can play Battlefield 6, literally everything else I need or want works great on Linux. I’m hoping the anti cheat developers get more on board soon, maybe they’ll catch on after windows shits itself a couple more times due to the spaghettified AI code. I currently can’t get into recovery mode because Microsoft borked it with their last patch lmao.

Your reply implies the article is critical of this, but it isn’t

Yeah, the other interpretation isn’t better. Either the title is critical of this or it is an incredibly obvious (verging on completely uneccesary) statement.

Seriously, it amounts to ‘Valve wants to sell more of this console they make money off of’

Would be great to read some performance metrics on the Verified pages, like, on what preset does the game run at a stable 30/40/60 (or 45/60/90) fps?

Verified I’ve learned means as much as Nintendo’s Seal of Quality these days.
