Abstract

This research presents a study of the relationship between historical reality and praxis in Ignacio Ellacuría’s thought. It defends the thesis that the existing link between both notions represents one of the greatest contributions of this author to Latin American philosophy. This is due to the insertion of both categories in the transcendental plane, whose full understanding implies the knowledge of the main theses of Xavier Zubiri, Ellacuría’s teacher. It is concluded that both themes are approached from an original perspective, starting from eminently metaphysical pillars, whose openness is driven by diverse dynamisms.
