Abstract

Engineering ethics refers to that branch of applied ethics that examines the actions of and decisions taken by engineers. It emerged as a special field of ethics in the 1980s and focuses on professional ethics in which the responsibilities and duties of engineers, which are often formulated in codes of ethics, are addressed and on individual ethics in which integrity and honesty are addressed.
