Abstract

Neel Mukherjee, a native of Kolkata, India, pursued his academic journey in English Literature at Jadavpur University, Kolkata, and later at University College, Oxford. He earned a PhD from Pembroke College, Cambridge, and further enhanced his literary skills with a master’s degree in creative writing from the University of East Anglia. Recognized for his literary contributions, Mukherjee, an author of three acclaimed novels, was honored as a Fellow of the Royal Society of Literature in 2018. Additionally, he serves as a fiction reviewer for prominent newspapers in the UK and the USA, including The Times and TIME Magazine Asia. Presently, Mukherjee holds a part-time position as a Briggs-Copeland lecturer at the Department of English, Harvard University, dividing his time between London and Cambridge, Massachusetts.
