    Closed-loop meditation systems monitor neurophysiological signals during practice and deliver adaptive feedback intended to accelerate the development of contemplative skills. We argue that these systems face a structural problem isomorphic to a well-recognised failure mode in AI alignment research: proxy reward misspecification.
