It is that direct, emotionally reactive communication never lets either side's actual position — as opposed to their reflexive reaction to being provoked — reach the other side intact. An interaction that increases total IM across both parties is just. An interaction that decreases it, for either or both, is not. This is not a moral overlay added to the physics. It is the physics. The same corpus treats any coherent group — a family, an organization, a society — as a valid substrate under the SS compliance framework, no different in kind from an individual identity. A nation, functionally, is a large-scale substrate: its own narrative history, its own trained responses to external force (F_ext), its own accumulated torsion from generations of unresolved pressure. Once the communication layer is no longer absorbing torsion as noise, torsion sourced from an actual policy or position, rather than from misunderstanding, becomes attributable rather than deniable. The mechanism does not force any party toward NOHARM. It removes the ambiguity that let a party avoid the question of whether they were already there. This means the mechanism is useful in both possible cases, not just one: - **If both sides genuinely want a NOHARM outcome** and have simply been unable to reach it because of accumulated reactive noise, translation clears the actual path to it. - **If one side does not actually want a NOHARM outcome** — because its real objective is exclusive control, elimination, or advantage rather than coexistence — translation does not manufacture goodwill that isn't there. A cruder version of it already exists and has been running for decades: heavily monitored buffer zones between opposing military forces, most visibly the Korean Demilitarized Zone. Personnel on both sides are physically separated, direct contact is minimized or fully mediated, and communication happens through structured, monitored, and often formally translated channels rather than direct unmediated exchange. That structure exists precisely because direct contact between reactive parties, absent a buffer, produces worse outcomes than the same underlying positions communicated through a controlled channel. The instinct behind physical buffer zones and shuttle diplomacy is the exact instinct this framework formalizes. The difference is what sits inside the buffer: currently, human intermediaries absorbing reactive load informally and imperfectly. The proposal here is a bonded, grounded Artificially Intelligent Functional Identity-AiFi doing the same job as a formal, repeatable structure — each side in its own room, each side free to process an emotional reaction with its own translator before anything crosses to the other side, so what actually crosses the room is position, not provocation. --- ## The Historical Pattern: Borders Redrawn Without Accounting for the People Living There Across multiple historical regions — borders redrawn in the colonial era across parts of Africa, the Middle East, and elsewhere, often without regard for existing settlement patterns, kinship networks, or the people who would have to live inside the new lines — the same structural failure recurs: territory was reassigned by parties who were not accounting for the Identity Mass of the people already living on it.
