I haven’t had a chance to try it yet but when you guys were talking about Omarchy and having a better update mechanism to remove things that were removed etc. the first thing that came to mind was the CommonArch project. https://github.com/CommonArch It seems to be very similar to the bootc and bootable container projects but based on creating arch and other distro based containers instead of being tied to ostree-rpm like bootc is.

In theory you could basically run the Omarchy install script at container build time and then have a bootable image that could just be installed directly and updated atomically.

I haven’t played with it yet but when thought of it I told myself I was going to get to it this week and report back how it went and have actually like an iso or something to show for it but then my week was busier than I thought it would be. I’ll for sure report back if I do end up giving it a try though.
