About
Hi, I’m Chris. I love music, software, books, and defeating death with calm
aplomb. I’ve been living in San Francisco since 2001.
For work I develop safer software, with a focus on client-side platforms,
often switching between engineer and engineering manager roles as needed. I take
a very broad view of what safety can mean. These days I work at Apple on the
SPEAR security engineering team. I’ve worked at Tailscale, and at Google on the
ChromeOS Security, Fuchsia
Security, Chrome Security, Android
Framework, and Pixel Security teams. I was a Principal Security Consultant at
iSEC Partners (now NCC Group), and a
web developer at a couple small shops. Doing linguistics and French literature
at university prepared me well for these jobs, weirdly.
I’ve played various musical instruments on various recordings, too.
