Format: KindleVerified PurchaseTejal’s book is from a genre that I don’t normally read. Most books in the genre, I suspect, merely state the obvious and are full of truisms. I get that impression from my LinkedIn feed. And yet many readers will come to these books under difficult circumstances, often after a setback in their career. What’s most helpful for them is to read a book like Tejal’s that recounts a career challenge, and coaches you how to reflect, regroup, and ultimately ascend.
I really liked the example from early in the book (the Mindset chapter) about Tejal’s dispiriting struggles as a student because of the language barrier. She feared failure and lacked confidence to articulate her challenges. Those in her study group would have helped had they known the real problem. She bore down, put her heart into learning, and set herself on the path of crossing the language barrier. Through this she realized how much we learn from struggle.
Learning from struggle: not an empty LinkedIn cliche, but the moral of a compelling story.
