Operational scalability is further enhanced by the modular hardware design of the Moffett Taxi System, additional taxis can be deployed at any time to instantly increase throughput without major infrastructure changes. Tailor Made Project
This scalability is exemplified in the Derry Group Ireland installation, where Moffett delivered an automated chilled storage and retrieval system tailored for high-volume distribution. The system was designed with future growth in mind. Because the current configuration uses six Taxis to deliver pallets across zones, the system was engineered so that additional Taxis can be incorporated should demand rise. Increasing the number of Taxis directly boosts throughput without requiring wholesale changes to the core racking layout or software logic. The traffic‐management and WCS architecture already handles coordination among existing Taxis, so scaling this component is primarily about hardware deployment, not re-architecting the system.
