Our members and patient representatives have come together to produce our new Melanoma Stages and Treatment – Patient Guide
The melanoma stages and treatment – patient guide (MPG) reflects the latest advances in melanoma medicine such as staging, surgical procedures, adjuvant therapy, updates and treatments. Our newly developed resources will help you navigate the options that may be available to you as well as providing information on health and wellbeing and living with melanoma.
In July 2023, Melanoma Focus received PIF TICK accreditation. The PIF TICK is the UK wide quality mark for trusted health information, achieving this official certification demonstrates our commitment to the provision of high-quality health information. This means you can be assured that what you are reading, watching or listening to is evidence-based, understandable, jargon-free, up-to-date and produced to the best possible standard.


During 2015 Ross was diagnosed with stage 2a cutaneous melanoma. He underwent a Wide Local Excision (WLE) and a Sentinel Lymph Node Biopsy (SLNB), his results came back negative and after five years of surveillance he was discharged in 2020. Unfortunately, in 2023 it was discovered that the melanoma had spread through his body which also resulted in the blinding of one eye. Two years later he is now no evidence of disease (NED), here he very kindly shares his story.

During June 2019, Robert was diagnosed with a stage 4 melanoma. He completed 3 ipilimumab treatments and a further 15 months of nivolumab treatment. He responded well and his tumours started to reduce other than one which was later found out to be Adreno-Cortical Cancer. Five years on from the removal of the left adrenal and six and a half years after his stage 4 diagnosis, Robert is now no evidence of disease (NED). Here, he very kindly shares his full story.
