{"id":171527,"date":"2021-06-10T04:52:32","date_gmt":"2021-06-10T08:52:32","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/lithub.com\/?p=171527"},"modified":"2021-06-14T08:42:01","modified_gmt":"2021-06-14T12:42:01","slug":"the-ultimate-summer-2021-reading-list","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/lithub.com\/the-ultimate-summer-2021-reading-list\/","title":{"rendered":"The Ultimate Summer 2021 Reading List"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>It&#8217;s June, the summer reading lists are out in full force, and so are our newly vaccinated knees (and chins), which can only mean that it&#8217;s that <a href=\"https:\/\/lithub.com\/the-ultimate-summer-books-preview\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">time<\/a> <a href=\"https:\/\/lithub.com\/the-ultimate-summer-books-preview-of-2019\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">of<\/a> <a href=\"https:\/\/lithub.com\/the-ultimate-summer-2020-reading-list\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">year<\/a> again.<\/p>\n<p>If you\u2019re new, here\u2019s how it works:<\/p>\n<p style=\"padding-left: 40px;\">1. I read all of the Most Anticipated and Best Summer Reading lists that flood the internet this time of year.<br \/>\n2. I count how many times each book is included.<br \/>\n3. I collate them for you in this handy list.<\/p>\n<p>This year, I read 38 lists, which recommended a grand total of 522 individual books. As always, I avoided narrowly themed or genre-specific lists (like &#8220;thrillers&#8221; or &#8220;business books&#8221; or &#8220;Hallmark novels&#8221;); when publications had multiple lists, I made sure to include them all. (The full list of lists is at the end of this post.) I have included those books recommended at least three times below, in descending order of frequency.<\/p>\n<p>So if you want to Read the Book That Everyone is Reading (or at least recommending) this summer, here&#8217;s where you should start:<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\"><strong>21 lists:<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>
