Tell Lawmakers: Say Yes to Millionaires Tax — Invest In Washington Now
Tell your legislators it's time to say no to cuts and yes to a millionaires tax! Make WA's tax code more equitable and fund core programs by taxing the super-rich.

What we're able to pass this legislative session will determine how much money there is to negotiate for when we enter contract negotiations in the spring.

Action for APS Workers: Demand a Hearing for HB 2678
Adult Protective Services workers help keep vulnerable adults in Washington State safe. However, the State must fund APS properly so employees can continue to provide these essential services. House Bill 2678 was introduced to help support the critical services you provide and support long-term budget planning in APS. You can help get this bill passed by sending a message to the House Appropriations Committee members by February 4th, calling on them to give this bill a committee hearing.

Our Next Contract Fight Begins TODAY
Our Next Contract Fight Begins TODAY
Winning our next union contract starts with YOU. Last bargaining cycle, we mobilized en masse and refused to accept a bad deal for public workers, winning 5 percent general wage increases and hundreds of job-class specific increases when budget projections were down and the employer was offering 1% over two years.

At ABHS, WFSE Member Wins Back Missing Sick Pay | Washington Federation of State Employees (WFSE)
When American Behavioral Health Systems (ABHS) van driver and WFSE Local 2824 member Kayla Roundtree realized a discrepancy in sick time accrual was shorting her and her coworkers of their earned hours, she took action with her union and made it right.Roundtree has worked at ABHS in Chehalis for just over a year.“We’re a residential substance use disorder treatment facility,” Roundtree said. “We help clients who have issues with drugs or alcohol find new ways to cope with the stressors that might trigger them to use again, and hopefully set them up for a better future.”
Federal Cuts and Our Jobs: Here's What We Know
Federal Cuts and Our Jobs: Here's What We Know
The exact impacts to the places where our members work is not yet clear. Governor Ferguson and Attorney General Nick Brown are going through the 1,000+ page bill with a fine toothed comb to make determinations about how our state agencies, colleges and universities will be impacted.
Unfair Labor Practice Filed for Secretaries, Paralegals
Unfair Labor Practice Filed for Secretaries, Paralegals
Workers in the secretary series, who are now in the administrative assistant series, were improperly reallocated by OFM after they launched a statewide campaign and won hard-earned raises. The ULP also includes paralegals at the Office of the Attorney General.
Save Public Services: Balance WA's Unfair Tax Code
Save Public Services: Balance WA's Unfair Tax Code
WFSE is fighting to protect public services on two different fronts: here at home in Washington state, and at the federal level in Washington D.C. In Washington state, the super-rich and corporate interest seek to maintain what is the second-most unfair tax code in the United States. Until we convince politicians to demand they contribute to the services we all depend on, we'll always be underpaid and recurring budget crises with layoffs and furloughs will be the norm. At the federal level, anti-worker extremists and their billionaire backers are advancing the largest cuts ever to Medicaid, which is the largest source of federal dollars in our state budget. Cuts to Medicaid would be catastrophic. Over 20,000 WFSE members jobs receive federal funding. Use this form to send an email to your elected officials in Washington state and D.C. to demand that they prioritize public services over billionaire tax breaks.
Layoff Resources and the Fight Ahead
Layoff Resources and the Fight Ahead
This budget crisis was worse than the COVID crisis, worse than the Great Recession, where $10 billion in cuts were made. The question was not if there would be layoffs, just how many, and if our raises and health benefits were also at risk.
Legislative Session Victories: No Furloughs or Healthcare Cuts
Legislative Session Victories: No Furloughs or Healthcare Cuts
Governor Ferguson signed budget with WFSE raises, no healthcare takeaways, and Rainier School and Yakima Valley School SAVED for developmentally disabled Washingtonians. The Governor did veto some items, but none impact the budget. All revenue bills are signed. The budgets are signed. There are no furloughs. Our union contracts are officially funded.
