Membership is open to anyone aged 14-29 who has a significant tie to Shetland. Anyone aged 30+ or anyone who does not have a link to Shetland may apply to become an associate member. Membership is free and you can withdraw from membership at any time by submitting a notice of withdrawal. We keep a register of members and information requested below, this is stored safely. We also store information on former members for at least 6 years which is their name and the date on which they ceased to be a member. The board will notify each applicant promptly by email of its decision on whether or not to admit them to membership. All applications will be reviewed at each board meeting, the board may, at its discretion, refuse to admit any person to membership.
