stARTs North-West is dedicated to artists, the arts, and culture in our community. In 2023, we celebrated 75 years of continuous operation, an extraordinary milestone that reflects the dedication of those who have nurtured and led this organisation for decades. Our recent name change (from Burnie Arts Council Inc to stARTs North-West) honours that legacy, whilst acknowledging that times have changed. We aim to support and represent the vibrant and contemporary activity of artists, arts organisations and cultural practitioners across the region. In 2025 we released two books, Dream Burnie and Burnie Creatives, both showcasing the incredible artists in our region. In 2026 we have a month-long calendar of events planned 'stARTs in March'. It covers all artforms and the program encompasses activities from Wynyard to Sisters Beach. stARTs in March kicks off with GLAM in the ART-fternoon - 28 Feb, 2-5pm.
