María Josefina Poupin Swinburn

Full Professor and Academic Vice-Dean of the Faculty of Engineering and Sciences at Universidad Adolfo Ibáñez. She earned her Doctorate in Biological Sciences from Pontificia Universidad Católica de Chile. A specialist in molecular biology and microbiology, her research focuses on the role of microbial cooperation and diversity in enhancing plant growth under challenging environmental conditions, with a particular emphasis on nutrient deficiency, salinity, and stressors related to climate change. She has led competitive research projects, participated in international collaborations, and contributed to national scientific initiatives.
