Dedicated, Compassionate, and Specialized Care Every once in a while, you stumble upon a person whose profession and passion are aligned that their work ceases to be a job. I found Michelle Richards to be one of those people. Michelle has a gift for connecting with her patients; she took the time to bond with my autistic son during his evaluation for tongue tie and posture issues, making him feel comfortable and motivated. Her approach is thorough, data-driven, and holistic by not just looking at the symptoms but observing the the whole person. I found her to be very knowledgeable in her field. She provided us with a comprehensive treatment plan to improve sleep via myofunctional therapy and surgery. She also gave a few good pointers on navigating post high school options for my son! Thank you!
Nicole was very patient and caring when it came to assessing my daughter (who has Down Syndrome). I feel the evaluation was extremely comprehensive and data driven. We have a treatment plan to help her sleep due to her having sleep apnea. I am excited to have the potential to improve her sleep without requiring a CPAP.
Had my daughter evaluated because she wasn't improving in speech therapy. Had a very informative meeting and got to the root problem of her speech. I'm very optimistic that Nicole can help my daughter! I wish I would've come here sooner!
I have never had such a positive, validating and thorough experience with a medical professional. I would highly recommend this office to anyone looking for a medical professional that's up to date on their information, kind and actually cares. 3 month update: My experience with them only got better over time. Working with Michelle and Kristine has literally changed my life. I came to the clinic in need of a frenectomy. Michelle advocated and showed up for me to make sure it happened correctly and in a way I was comfortable with every step of the way. I've never had a medical professional show up for me the way that she has. Kristine has been a dream to work with in therapy, not just for my frenectomy but to align my whole body before and after surgery. I honestly feel like I've been given a whole new body and it's all been through such subtle changes. If you show up for yourself, they will show up for you with so much care and support. Before coming to them I had settled on being disabled and limited in life and now I feel like I'm just beginning. I wouldn't go anywhere else for therapy but here.
5 starts aren’t enough to give. I would recommend Oakland Myo to everyone. Kristine is so kind, knowledgeable and thorough. I arrived at the office feeling completely confused, nervous and scared & I left with awareness, relaxation and with a deeper understanding about my body and ways to relieve my issues. I’m forever grateful for the Kristine and the entire team. Finding this office has been my greatest achievement on my path to healing.
Michelle is THE Myo functional therapist you want to see. I drove 1.5 hours for our evals and then did zooms after that and it was worth it for her expertise and support. She accommodates each child and the family as a whole with her approach. My kids loved their time with her and felt successful in their exercises because she was so positive and encouraging. We had used a different Myo before her and spent months without making many gains and my daughter dreaded it and was worn out. A total 180 experience with Michelle and we were able to set goals, achieve them and have a plan in place for next steps for my daughters. I can’t recommend Michelle enough.
