The Museum of Modern and Contemporary Art Sri Lanka is a bold new initiative that aims to establish a public museum dedicated to the display, education, research, and conservation of modern and contemporary art. Such a museum will be defined by the perspectives and art histories that are unique and relevant to the contexts of Sri Lanka. At the heart of the museum’s development sits education and outreach, as we seek to serve the communities that we are located within, through a commitment to inclusivity, collaboration, sustainability and transformation. Until a permanent home is established, this long-term initiative sets out to establish a new context for how art is perceived, how it is discussed and who it is for.
