London-based indie artist Fields and Forests crafts folk-pop compositions that merge atmospheric soundscapes with layered vocal harmonies. Their debut album Maybe Next Year launched on Bandcamp in December 2023 before expanding to Apple Music distribution in July 2024. The twelve-track collection features instrumental arrangements exploring themes of seasonal change and personal evolution. The project emerged from Loudoun County's independent music scene, where Fields and Forests developed their signature blend of indie rock and folk elements. The album's production emphasizes acoustic instrumentation alongside electronic textures and multi-tracked vocals. Recording sessions captured live performances while incorporating studio techniques to build the record's contemplative sound. Maybe Next Year marks Fields and Forests' first full-length release following several years of local performances and songwriting development. The album's narrative arc follows themes of reflection, transition, and forward motion across its dozen compositions. Each track builds on recurring musical and lyrical motifs while maintaining individual song structures.
