Amphior is the creative alias of Danish producer Mathias Hammerstrøm, who crafts introspective soundscapes where melancholy and dreamlike euphoria intertwine. His music blends the warmth of tape machines, vintage amplifiers, and the beauty of imperfection—like a dust-covered book that creaks when opened. With atmospheric instruments, haunting vocals, and lo-fi textures, he evokes nostalgia, decay, and the fleeting nature of memory. Amphior debuted in 2014 with the 'Begone EP' on Loodma Recordings, exploring "Future Garage" with skittering rhythms and rain-soaked cityscapes. In 2016, he released 'Unlocked' before unveiling 'Shadowland' in 2017, an IDM-inspired collection. He shifted to ambient music with 'We Used to Dance' in 2019. 'Another Presence' - released in 2022 - is a meditative and spiritually pulsating work released on Italy’s Glacial Movements. 'Disappearing' is Amphior’s new album, a deep exploration of memory and impermanence shaped by pianos of the past.
