Food drives play a vital role in helping us to serve those in need in our community. You can make a major impact by organizing a food drive on our behalf.About 1/3 of our yearly food collection comes from individual donations and community food drives. The goal of food drives is to bring in as many non-perishable essential items as possible to help fill nutritionally sound “staple boxes” distributed to Food Bank participants. The Face of Hunger Might Surprise You
The Face of Hunger Might Surprise You A small consignment business ran by a mother - daughter team, Cathy and Laura, fell on hard times when tragedy struck unexpectedly. Laura, a mother of two young boys, lost her husband to a heart attack, leaving her with little money and a fragile emotional state. Selling their home was not enough to cover the bills. Laura tried renting an apartment but could not keep up with the payments. Having no place else to go, Laura and her boys moved in with Cathy to try to make ends meet.

Each year, we distribute over 1 million pounds of food to the residents of the Northshore. As the amount of food leaving our doors continues to increase, we are in need of support from the community to supplement these resources and defer the cost of food we need to purchase.Whether it’s a can of vegetables from your pantry, a trailer full of watermelons from your farm, or a truckload of cereal from your retail grocery store, your donation goes directly to the tables of hungry families in our Northshore community.
