URI Watershed Watch Training Option A - April 2nd, 2026
Volunteer environmental monitoring can be a great family activity, a good excuse to get out on the water, a way to give back to your community, and a way to learn to protect your favorite waterbody. To become a new volunteer water quality monitor through the URI Watershed Watch (URIWW) program, you must participate in a spring training. Through this you will learn all you need to become a successful volunteer water monitor! Our classroom session focuses on what we monitor and why, as well as the basics of how URIWW works. To help fit your schedule, we offer 2 dates (3/29/25 at 9 am, and 4/2/25 at 6 pm), but you only need to attend one. Check out our website (https://web.uri.edu/watershedwatch/getting-involved//) to learn more.

Cooperative Extension provides non-formal education and learning opportunities to people throughout the United States. It emphasizes taking knowledge gained through research and education and bringing it directly to the people to create positive changes. Through Cooperative Extension in RI, we bring vital, practical information to agricultural producers, small business owners, communities, consumers, families, and young people. We pride ourselves on our role in translating science for practical application, and are always looking to identify emerging research questions to which we find answers and encourage application of science and technology to improve agricultural, environmental, economic and social conditions.
Regenerative Home Gardening Series
Regenerative Home Gardening Series
To Which We Belong is a documentary that highlights farmers, ocean farmers, and ranchers leaving behind conventional practices that are no longer profitable or sustainable and making the switch to regenerative practices. This form of holistic land and sea management has the potential to draw enough carbon down from the sky and back into the soil, reversing climate change and bringing atmospheric carbon levels down to pre-industrial-revolution levels.
