What is Pots?
POTS stands for Postural Orthostatic Tachycardia Syndrome, a complex condition where the autonomic nervous system malfunctions, causing symptoms like a fast heartbeat, light-headedness, and fatigue when standing up. This happens because too little blood returns to the heart, leading to a significant heart rate increase and other symptoms that improve when lying down. POTS can range from mild to disabling, affecting daily activities and requiring medical attention for proper diagnosis and management.
