Palliative care education for healthcare professionals

Participating journal: BMC Palliative Care

BMC Palliative Care is calling for submissions to our new Collection on “Palliative care education for health professionals.” Palliative care education is essential for equipping healthcare professionals to provide compassionate, effective end-of-life care. As the population ages and chronic conditions become more widespread, the demand for palliative care continues to grow. This Collection highlights diverse educational strategies, curricula, and training programs designed to help providers deliver high-quality palliative care.

Research has shown that well-trained healthcare providers can significantly improve the quality of life for patients facing serious illnesses, ensuring that their physical, emotional, and spiritual needs are met. Continued research holds the promise of further advancements in training methodologies and interdisciplinary collaboration. Ongoing research could also lead to the establishment of standardized competencies that ensure all healthcare providers are prepared to meet the complex needs of patients and their families.

Topics of interest include, but are not limited to:

Innovative curricula in palliative care education

Virtual learning environments and simulation-based training

Interdisciplinary training approaches

Impact of palliative care education on patient outcomes

Challenges in implementing palliative care training

All manuscripts submitted to this journal, including those submitted to collections and special issues, are assessed in line with our editorial policies and the journal’s peer review process.
