Numerical Misdirection.

You can easily become a numerical klutz by assuming you have better numbers to calculate than the ones that are most commonly used across an entire field.

Staring at people

Here’s where a lot of us go wrong: when we don’t notice the little things. Not a lot of humans are observant when it comes to one another.

Some of us are not even as observant of our own lives. We just do what malcom gladwell (and what I thought was mine) calls blinking thinking. We go from idea to idea without really taking in any of the details.

It’s okay to look at the big picture but if you can’t see the direction in which the brush strokes were applied, then there is an issue.

When it comes to human interaction people love when you notice the small details about them. Even when it’s something negative that they don’t think can be seen but is something they might be embarrassed about.

The biggest plus here is you’ll create somewhat of a deeper connection or slight bond with each relationship you have.

People will admire your attention to details.
For the next week pay more attention to all of the small things and point them out without too much insult.

What we’ve all learned from the mayans

Now that everybody realizes the whole conspiracy, mayan, theoretical bullshit theory is not real, we can spend time doing something better.

The best thing about the “we’re all going to die getting hit by a giant rock” idea is that people realize how important their life is. It makes us see the bigger picture. We actually start looking past next week and realize there is more to living than just making money and buying stuff.

Create a legacy worth talking about 50 years from now. Make your great, great-grandchildren proud to brag about what you did 100 years ago. Stop complaining and start a revolution.

Creators beware!

As creators we must have laser beam focus on the creative task in front of us. It is important that we capture our creative flow of genius as soon as it strikes. Otherwise we miss the gems of an idea that could be revolutionary.

In order to maintain that focus we must not “look up” (metaphorically speaking) while engaged in creation. “Looking up” can disturb our vision and slow the passion for the idea being created at the time.

It can also give us a new perspective on the same idea after a split second of distraction or “looking up”.

The mission statement has to be “I’m going to be as creative as possible while my creative engine is running until I have no gas left.” Create until the idea run dry. “Looking up” in between the task can really hurt the process.

Just like it’s hard for a human to physically stop right then and there while sprinting as a high concentration rate.

Morale of this post: create as much as you can while the iron is hot because once it cools down you have to let it reset all over again.
