Shit Ain’t Easy.

You try to convince yourself that taking it easy is better. The easy path means more rest, and recovery. It means less stress. Unfortunately it also means less opportunities, less money, and less life on your terms. No easy paths exist. Every so often we convince ourselves otherwise, but it’s never the case that easy roads lead to easy outcomes.

Streamlined Perplexity.

Does convenience culture create more efficiency, or cookie cutter results? Industries like technology are faster, more streamlined and simpler in terms of approaches. Many of the old processes were removed or updated. Does this translate to more automation and generalization? Spending less time and less money seems ethical at face value. To what extent might this same process create severe problems in other industries?

Sometimes chaos can be your compass.

We pick and choose our battles, by what we decide to do on a daily basis. If your life requires less of you, and things come easily, your battles may be easier to overcome. However you may be further removed from a life you’ve always wanted. The difficulties that come with having to push yourself beyond discomfort, is what will help bring out the best part of you. This is where your day to day will oftentimes become chaotic and a bit disorganized.

However you’ll be much closer to your ideal circumstances. In other words, embrace the challenges and chaos that arise from obtaining and pursuing your dream. You might have to readjust from time to time, but you don’t have to throw in the towel.

Be kind to yourself.

You woke up today. You have another chance at life. Don’t get too caught up in the trivial details of what’s not perfect. Just make the most of it all.

Follow through.

When you don’t do what you’re supposed to, life gets harder. Meaning, follow through on the promises you make. Perhaps you didn’t make a promise, but you most certainly made a claim that you would be better off this year than the last year. However, you’re right back to square one. All because you neglected the follow through.

Stop letting your ignorance slide. Be your own worst critic. Nobody is going to baby you into an exceptional life. You’re going to have to work at it with everything you’ve got. If you perfect the follow through, you’ll be a lot closer to the life you need.

Locked and loaded at all times.

We rise or fall, based on daily habits. It’s very simple, yet a majority of people have a hard time sticking to the plan (myself included). If you create a routine, and stay consistent for a year or three years, without missing a beat, you’ll become whatever it is those habits lead you to become. Perhaps the difficulty is in the fact that you’re not always going to want to feel like working on your goals. However that’s probably when it’s most important to keep practicing, staying disciplined, and maintaining that momentum.

It’s always easy when you have energy, or are happy, or motivated to do something. However when life becomes inconvenient, this is when we are tested. Focus on staying the course when it gets hardest, because when things are working in your favor, that’s actually the easiest part. Get comfortable with the difficulty of staying locked in.

Don’t go for easy.

Everything is not supposed to be easy. You don’t get much out of constant smoothness. The struggles, and difficulties are what build us up. You don’t want to necessarily make your life more complicated or harder than it is on purpose. However, it might be best to lean into the challenging tasks. The obstacles will force you to break down and make you bring your best.

Beyond talent.

There are things we do that come easy. There are activity we engage in, that don’t need to much for us to be good at. Maybe you are creative. Maybe you can calculate numbers fairly easy without much cognitive strain. There’s a lot of things people do that seem to “come naturally”. Some things in life require 100% of your effort and attention.

Some things in life can’t be juggled. You just have to drop the other ideas and get busy on the one that needs most of you. We can only get but so far, pretending to be in full and complete control of doing 10 things at once. How on earth can you have a deep understanding of any subject at the surface level? You can’t.

Ergo you need to make room and give that one thing all of you. Especially if you ever plan to become an “expert” or “master” within that skill set.

Resistence is necessary…

Sometimes we ask ourselves why things can’t be a bit simpler. This is when you have to realize that if life was simpler you wouldn’t be as well prepared for any adversity.

If there really was an “easy button” what would be the point in accomplishing any major goals? If you could make it all happen with the push of a button it would be worthless.

You would not have had to fight for your dreams. There would be no story that detailed all that you did to get to this point. Everything would be effortless. No challenges, no resistence, no close calls. You be unable to survive for very long with everything being smooth.

We need the bumps and bruises to mold us into better, and stronger people. The tears are important, the slip ups are needed. Otherwise we lose gratitude for everything that exist.

Get over getting over things (it comes with life)

Overcoming objections is one of the most important things you’ll learn in life. If you want anything worth keeping, or pursuing, you better believe that something or many things are going to pop up, and try to ruin your moment. Going from one dream to the next is no easy task. Just when you think you have it all under control, here comes the bullshit.

Missed calls.

Expensive equipment.

Death.

Birth.

Breakups.

Makeups.

Bruises.

Weather.

People.

The list can be made much longer but that’s not what this is about. This is about learning to bob and weave through traffic. This is about keeping your composure when everything is not going the way you thought it would. Your reaction to what happens when nobody cares is just as important, if not more important than what you do when everybody is in your corner. There is a saying along the lines of “you are who you really are when nobody is looking”. Not exactly how it goes but it means the difference between realized dreams, and not being able to handle defeat in the most crucial of times. Getting past the pain, frustration, and failure is the key to this universe when dealing with prosperity.

I can’t tell you exactly how to overcome objections because everybody is different. What I can tell you is, losing enthusiasm to keep going in the right direction is exactly how you lose every time.

Do something else!

A very simple philosophy to follow: If you don’t love it, don’t do it.

As Jim Rohn would say “it’s simple, but not easy”. It’s not easy because once we start to get comfortable you don’t want to change anything. Staying in the womb is what causes complacency. We turtle up hoping to not be seen. We know we want out of a certain situation, but freak out when we think about how difficult it will be to break out.

Set one goal at a time to leave your comfort zone. You’ll never be great if you keep settling for what you hate. Doing what you hate for a check, or because of a mental barrier is a cop out.

Is being an adult worth it? YES!!!!

Do you ever wake up and realize, “shit I’m an adult. I have responsibilities. I must figure out a way to make money so I can buy food and stay energized. I must figure out a way to not get fired from my job for being immature or rude”.

I have that realization at least once a day.

Easiest way to deal with it? First of all, there is no “EASY” way to fix this. “Dealing” with it means your still highly uncomfortable with it and you’re looking for a way out.

So you might wonder, “what the hell do I do to turn things around?

Embrace it fully and completely! Know that at some point as a child this moment, of being an “adult” was all you could ever imagine every night. You wanted the mortgage. You loved the idea of little “you’s” walking around getting into everything. You embraced the idea of paying bills and getting mail from the government.

Do you know what’s great about being in this position of adulthood? The fact that you can do absolutely anything and everything you want.

Are there consequences? Of course there are! The possibilities of what could go wrong in every situation is why enough people don’t embrace adulthood.

This is your greatest moment in time. You can capitalize on this part of your life and set yourself up to succeed all the way through. Don’t make the mistake of constantly thinking like a wild teenager if you plan on dying in a 100 acre beverly hills mansion at the age of 93 after accomplishing all of your life’s goals.

Be wise in your decision making. As an adult the clock actually ticks slower, so when there’s pain it last much longer.

Give this “adult” thing all that you have. It only happens one time. Why not create the world you’ve always wanted?.
