2 years ago	mod	Removed Comment I complained about the inactive mods a long time ago. The sub was overrun with transphobes claiming that the name is okay, because real women have two X chromosomes. When the sub was first made, I asked to remove it: https://lemmy.world/post/1810228 https://slrpnk.net/post/849230 Then the mods went inactive, and I asked to take it over and kill it: https://slrpnk.net/comment/1081472 The mods came back for a few days, removed the offending comments, and left again. And I had already left the fediverse, and all reddit-like forums by then. I see a comment in this thread calling me a troll. It's not true. I voiced the same concerns people have been voicing for 15 years since the original r/2xc was created. People agreed with me. I'm no troll. What I have been in my years on this account on Reddit and the Fediverse is a writer of science fiction. A creator of viral D&D videos. A moderator in the nonbinary community. A moderator in the soulist community. A creator of a subreddit, and later Lemmy community for nonbinary magic users. I joined Lemmy with the big migration wave in June 2023. I had years of history on Reddit before then. As far as I know, they're still there. I had these wonderful little moments sometimes where people would notice my username and say "wow, I used to love your HFY stories back when you wrote them". Another user and I, one I'd never met before, found ourselves introducing the nonbinary memes subreddit to the idea of plurality. They would make posts about being plural, the bigots would come out of the woodwork, and I would ban them and make a show of solidarity. Within a few months, knowledge and acceptance of plurality was commonplace. We did a good thing. Then I started getting attacked. Harassed by random people. Accusations went flying that I was a dozen different people. I got on one person's bad side, and they spread rumours about me to their circle, and the more I tried to fight it, the worse the rumours got and the more people repeated them. Eventually the admin of Blahaj zone accused me of being this "drone gender" person. I have been a fierce member of the nonbinary community and at times a leader for a long time. But I have never revealed my gender on this account. I save that information for people who actually know me, not internet strangers. I refused to give my gender, and she said "there is proof that you're this person". I got attacked by transphobe after transphobe who was mad at me for this gender that isn't mine, and she was responsible. I don't use this name anymore, and I don't use reddit style forums anymore. There was nothing I could do to stop the wave of hate that came after me. Every word in my defence was twisted. Had I made a new account, I am certain I would have been doxxed. The only winning move was not to play. Today, I got a notification on my phone from another user that the thing I tried to do 6 months age has finally happened. I am glad of that. And I see that the rumours are still being spread.
