Overview

Dental clinics across US  often face high subscription fees and hidden costs for using a particular service. I n order to get more features, support, or updates, the software becomes expensive & is a lot harder to maintain.

The objective was to  design  a user-friendly practice operations management software integrated with dental practice management systems (Open Dental, Eaglesoft, Dentrix)  to streamline workflows for office managers, front desk staff, and enhance the patient experience

Choice for Metrics

User Growth Rate: Percentage increase in new Reliablii users over time.
Churn rate: Percentage of users who stop using the product.
Feature Adoption: How frequently users utilize new or specific features.

Challenges

Limited Integration

Many tools lack compatibility with essential systems like billing, insurance claims, or imaging software, disrupting workflows.

High Expenses

Dental clinics often face high subscription fees and hidden costs for features, support, or updates, making software expensive to maintain.

Steep Learning Curve

Complex software can be difficult for staff to learn, leading to inefficiencies and increased chances of errors. Popular tools like Open Dental have become expensive & have a complex interface that requires a high learning curve, I helped the founders to narrow down on features that would make the product useful and relevant.

My Role

An initial research of speaking to 10 + dental practices ( including their family & relatives who too are in the same line of work ) was conducted by them in Austin. After conducting research, they released a critical need to synthesis raw data and convert into insights that would drive the design decisions for the product, considering both founders were from a non-design background they were looking for a specialist who could bridge the gap between research and design.
