Small Life Update

I started this Pagecord blog some time ago with the intention to write more, but life always has a way of giving me other priorities. In the end, I just occasionally post a photo for The 100 Pics challenge.

My goal is to become more active and share more about my real life; giving up a little bit of privacy, but still controlled by myself instead of a big tech company.

Some of the changes in my life

I have entered the dating world. I have yet to meet anyone, but I hope this will change. So, I will see how it all turns out, whether I make new friends or end up having a relationship. Both are important for me.

Since my latest periodic medical exam, I decided to really get back into calisthenics because I lost a total of 4 kg in weight. I was really lacking and didn't manage to get fully back into it since the last time I became ill; it took me some months to fully recover. I need to gain back the weight I lost and my strength. So, it's back to calorie shakes and strength training. Apparently, I have quite some grip strength (62 kg at age 41) in my non-dominant hand for my current body build, which is quite high according to the medical examiner. I guess this is an additional motivation for me.

I started playing Diablo IV because some of my work colleagues convinced me.

Demon Slayer: Kimetsu no Yaiba - Infinity Castle

I just saw the anime movie Demon Slayer: Kimetsu no Yaiba - Infinity Castle in theaters, and it was absolutely phenomenal! 🤩

The fight scenes were spectacular, the music was powerful, and the emotional moments really hit me. What truly elevated the film for me, was finally seeing the backstories of the demons, something the anime series never showed.

I'm already hyped for the next movie, as I understand this is the first of a three-part finale that will conclude the entire Demon Slayer saga.

My Calisthenics Journey, Take Two

I'm finally returning to practicing calisthenics. I'm still a beginner, but after a forced three-month break, it's time to make some solid progress and work toward new skills.

I haven't been able to work out due to a small surgery under my armpit. I was terrified I would rip the incision, which actually happened a bit due to a stupid mistake. It has now healed, but it left me with a huge scar.

I love calisthenics. It’s a form of strength training that uses your own bodyweight to build muscle and control, proving that you don't need to be huge like those who lift weights to be strong. I actually like when people underestimate my strength when most of them can't even do proper pull-ups, but I can!

This reminds me, I still need to order myself a static bar since it is the only piece of equipment I am missing.

Part of my calisthenics collection from Gravity Fitness and/or Gornation:
  • Pull-up bar
  • Small/medium parallettes
  • Dip bar
  • Workout rings
  • Weight-loading vest (Kensui Fitness)
  • Yoga blocks
  • Resistance bands
Progress! and weight gain ;)
