IT'S SO GOOD. Mad props to the dev for how fleshed out the story is and how it flows. The LIs are so interesting and make you want to keep going farther into the story. I've fully gone through one route so far and am eagerly making my way throught the second. Also the attention to detail, like changing MC's clothes, it noticed. It's so good~!

WAAAH, Thank you so much! I'm so happy to hear that the characters and story were interesting, and hehe, I love when the MC changes clothes in games, too! Definitely couldn't resist that detail. (T V T)/

this is why I’m pissed that I don’t have a PC I need this now

(Btw this is the person on Twitter who commented “YAOI” and just left with no explanation :3)

OH, HELLO! (> V < )/  Hehe, thank you for your interest! I hope you can play it sometime! 🥹🩷

i made an itch.io account just to leave a comment on this LMAO. honestly, i went into this demo figuring that based on the game premise it'd be a pretty low-expectations, sit back and enjoy sort of self-aware-ly trashy sort of work, in the same way that like watching intentionally bad horror movies or reading trashy romance novels can be enjoyable. not that there's anything wrong with those or enjoying those, but just personally, i tend to enjoy complex and nuanced story and characterization, depth, critical thought, and ideological challenge in my game writing as a whole — which, i'll be the first to admit, may be my issue with coming to the wrong genre for that!

anyway, after playing the demo though, i found myself really really pleasantly surprised! i think you have something really interesting here! and i'm very picky about my narratives, so that's not something i always say haha.

i found myself really enjoying what you've set up in the characters, in particular one of the things i've always disliked about the otome genre is how mary sue the MCs often are, and largely unrelatable to me. i found myself Sitting Up in my chair during the scene in icardi's demo route where melrose ends up being manipulative, even arguably abusive, towards him—and this isn't something you often find from the MC in an otome! i was like "okay, okay..." up until that point, but that's the moment when this game got my attention! i also overall enjoy the setup of icardi's route as a whole because, again, you don't often have an MC who's willing to have selfish and ulterior motives in a genre where I've found that most MCs are written to be as morally un-reprehensible as the player would like to imagine themselves as being. icardi is the opposite of my type in LIs, but i'm interested in continuing his route just for the writing.

i also was pleasantly surprised by how icardi and dr. love both feel like more than just their tropes—again, in a genre where writing a trope alone is often enough to satisfy people who will like a character regardless of their depth just for fitting into their preferred type. once again, i'm unfortunately a bit of a hater of the himbo archetype—it's just not my cup of tea!—but by the end of icardi's demo, i found myself being willing to see more of him for the moments where he showed signs of being more than just the bounds of his archetype. i hope you keep this up if it was intentional!

of course, i do have some points that took away from my experience a little bit, if you're interested in feedback! (i don't want to just leave it here tbh because i don't think i saw you solicit feedback anywhere or mention that it's welcome, so i don't really like coming at someone with constructive criticism unless it's invited.) more than happy to if you are interested though.

all in all, a game i had low expectations for that really ended up surpassing my expectations in ways that i don't see in many otomes that i DO have expectations for! really happy to say that even as-is with nothing changed, i'm looking forward to the full piece and am definitely going to be getting and playing through as much of it as possible. keep up the really fantastic work!

Thank you for leaving your thoughts! I'm glad you found the game enjoyable so far! (Q v Q )/

Honestly, that was my goal when telling the story of To Kill Eros! While I enjoy my fair share of simple stories and tropes, I really love complex character-driven stories and ideological discussions too! So I wanted to try my hand at it with this one! (^ v ^ )

I can't say much for my experience with Otome games, as most of what I have played myself may fall into things that may not be exactly to your preference, but I do believe there are gems out there! Especially here in the indie scene. It's not an indie otome title, but if you haven't played it, one of my inspirations while writing this was a game called Virche Evermore. I found the overall premise to be very interesting.

And if you're looking for a BL game, I'd also recommend Slow Damage, which was another inspiration of mine! The depth of its story really invested me! It includes quite heavy topics, though.

My rambling aside, thanks again for commenting! I'll be making a form to receive feedback once the game is complete, but if you'd like to email me your thoughts currently, you can do so here: dokirakii123@gmail.com. (> v <)/

funny enough, you must be reading my mind, because i was literally about to buy virche evermore this weekend and try it out! hearing the recommendation here makes me even more excited! i'll also look into slow damage too! i don't have a preference between GxB and BL otomes; anywhere where good story and characters can be found!

i'll drop my thoughts to your email then! there aren't many. thanks so much for your reply!

I just stumbled upon this and although I'm not sure it'll be for me because I'm not into BL Otome, I wanted to says the art style is gorgeous. I'll add to my collection for now, and who knows I might give in and give it a try.

Aw, thank you!! (Q v Q)/ And welcome, I appreciate the thought! I hope you have fun if you do give it a try sometime.  ♡

Just played through everything so far and really enjoyed it. Melrose is very relatable so far lol. Dr. Love and Vitale definitely have my interest the most but Icardi is also cute (and I rlly enjoyed that...switched up attitude with Yuri). I wasn't sure what to expect when I unlocked Vitale but YERRRRRRRRR! Made me very excited for more.

Thanks for playing!! (> W <) I'm glad you had fun with it!! (Hehe, one of my favorite moments to be honest! 🤝) I'm working hard towards the full release, and I'm excited to share it with you all! (Q v Q)/

Looking forward to it!

I adore the characters so, so much - and the story too? I'm absolutely in love. I adore Melrose as a character!! And Marlowe, my absolute beloved <33

Icardi grew on me SO fast; he's such a sweetheart. And hellooooo Dr. Love. I do love me a doctor/love forcaster with glasses <3.
I can't wait to see the final project!!!!

Ah, I appreciate the love for Marlowe!!! (T V T ) ♡ I'm so glad the story and characters are enjoyable so far! Thanks so much for playing!

the artstyle is so gorgeous like half of the time i'm reading i have to take a second to get another look at the art because its that pretty

Thank you so much for taking the time to look at it!! (T V T ) <3

OFCCCC

I just finished playing two routes and I absolutely love this game but im so confused cuz Vitale is still blocked for me even though I've completed all the choicesssss

Hello, and thank you for playing! I'm glad to hear you love it! (Q V Q) I've found that you must start a new game for Vitale's route to reveal itself. A notification will appear at the start of the new story if his route is unlocked. If it doesn't occur (and it only mentions one of the other two routes as completed), it hasn't registered one of the other two as completed yet.

To ensure that it reads both as completed, I saved at the choice menus and let each choice run to the end using skip, then saved the game as prompted in a different slot, loaded from the last choice, and repeated. I believe you can re-enter a choice menu by hitting back if you save shortly after. And if the regular skip isn't working, you can access "skip unseen text" in the options menu!

Sorry for the trouble, and I hope this helps! (T v T )
