Hi ! Good game. I'd like a camera zoom option on the table and some animated characters on the table; I think that would make it more fun. As it is, I find it very entertaining.

hey thanks for playing - what kind of zoom is it you’re after and I’ll see what I can do? As for animated elements, a lot of that is on the way in fact I’m working on some of it right now!

I've seen other pinball games that allow you to zoom in on the table as a close-up. Another issue I've encountered in this game is that the language (Spanish/Latin) won't change, and it won't save my settings or progress. I'm not sure what the problem is.

Ah, good shout - I've been wanting to add camera options for a while, will bump it up the priortity queue and get something in soon. The localisations aren't hooked up yet as the text keeps changing so I'm holding off on getting translations until it's mostly locked in - will be in soon hopefully though! The web version has had some saving issues in the apst, I'll take another look at these and get a fix in asap! In the meantime, I'd recommend the desktop versions of the game as I know saving is working as intended in those!

in browser version every time i click the game window becomes selected and blue

ah, that’s not ideal :) can I ask what browser you are using? I’d recommend the full download for optimal experience but will take a look!

Firefox, though i havent updated it in a while

Interesting, ok I'll spin it up in Firefox soon and check what the issue might be, thanks for letting me know!

Good job!

Thank you!

I love this game and it is such a clever adaptation of the classic pinball machines. 10/10!!

High praise indeed, thanks so much!

release on steam store, too!

(+1)

Yeah that's the plan! Store page and demo are up, feel free to give it a wishlist if you're feeling generous :) https://store.steampowered.com/app/3144340/Cult_of_PiN/

sure!

completed that table. and check out the score

congrats that’s epic! Well played

The macos version says this can't be opened.

ah, apologies I’ll get a new build up over the weekend, sorry about that

Arrow keys, please. It's kind of hard to right-click on my Chromebook

(+1)

Hey thanks for playing! In the pause menu there's an options under settings to rebind the control, let me know if that works for you

thanks

To elaborate on this a bit: the defaults also aren't great for MacBooks.

MacBooks don't have a right ctrl or a right click on the trackpad.

Thank you :)

Was happy to spot a pinball game as I forgot all about those, and this is a fine one. But at its current state it is lacking in juice - sounds and particles. Don't get me wrong, the existing sounds and particles are top tier, but there really should be more, sounds in particular. I see special things happening without any fanfare, but the very spirit of pinball games should be in sensory overload. Also I'm not a fan of slowmo when saving the ball, it feels weird, as if I'm losing control, it was fine during tutorial but would rather not have it during normal gameplay. Other than that, pretty good job so far.

(+1)

Yeah you’re absolutely spot on - a substantial audio pass is well overdue alongside some more FX - I’ve been finalising the style of the bumpers, bosses and subsequent tables so once that’s locked in I’m probably safe to go ham on the particles, lights etc. I keep trying to get core features done and out the way so I can spend some dedicated time on polishing, but people keep making excellent feedback suggestions so I keep getting sidetracked!

The slow-mo is only active on the easiest difficulty, once you’ve completed any table at least once the game will default to the highest difficulty so it’s only really for the first couple of plays. I’m kinda trying to use it to teach new players to the genre about how to nudge save.

Saying that, I could unlock normal and hard difficulties from the get-go and show a popup asking what starting difficulty you want.. I’ll think on that for a bit but might be an option.

Thanks for the feedback, and thanks for playing!

absolutely top tier, buying immediately when it comes out

what a legend, thank you!!

(1 edit)

Hello, I love your game, is very funny,

But I have somme issue with a small delay between click and see the action of the pinball beater (I'm not really sure about the trad I'm french sorry :))

And I encounter a bug on the first table, Act 6, somehow, I hit a ball in bonus hole during shop hole is active (the last letter will hit during the hit from the left beater), and the ball stuck in the hole (I have recorded a small video if you want)

Ah, sounds like it might be running poorly - try lower your graphics settings and see if that makes a difference? Or if playing in web browser, try the downloadable version, they tend to run much smoother.

Thanks for reporting, this is the second case of this now I've heard so a video would be incredibly useful to help track it down - if you could fire it over to me at kenny.makes.games@gmail.com that'd be awesome!

I sent you an email with the video of the bug

I don’t have a video, but I also have a ball stuck in the shop. When I have two balls and one goes in the shop (with chain lightning), the one in the shop never comes out, even if the other ball falls down the drain.

Ah, I'm so sorry this is happening I'll try and get a fix in asap

addictive

Glad to hear it ;)

The UI could need some improvement but other than that it was quite fun (even though i didnt understand what i am doing most of the time)

Ha, that's how I feel every time I get in front of a real table, something I'm purposefully trying to avoid in this game but clearly the UI is a big part of that - I'll work on tidying it up and making the connections to what's happening more obvious. thanks for playing!

I volunteer to translate this game from english to russian, please reply if interested

Hey thanks that's super kind of you! I'm not at the stage yet where I'm ready to localise but I'll be in touch when I am

(+1)

Nice game! I would like to translate your game into Turkish if you're interested!! (Professionally)

(+1)

Thank you, that’s great to hear - I’m still refining the text at the moment but once it’s all finalised I’ll be in touch

(+1)

Fun game, but the controls are weird. Right click vs left click is hard on a trackpad, and I don't have a right control button. A way to reassign these would be nice

(+1)

Hey hey, you can rebind and key from the settings menu, let me know if you have any issues but it should be working ok!

Thank you! Since the game starts with the tutorial, I didn't realise there was a menu in the game. Much easier after rebinding keys

(+1)

pretty cool take on pinball

(+2)

thanks!

que jogasso, fui ate o estagio 4 mas pqp muito bom

Obrigado! :)

Great!

So are you! Thanks for playing

This is so good!

so glad you enjoyed it, thanks!

i literally never comment on stuff like itch but this was insanely good i had so much fun :)

that means a lot, thanks for playing!!

Great Game! Really enjoyed playing it.

thanks and thanks for playing!

At some point I was unable to buy stuff from the shop despite having enough mana. I assume I hit some kind of limit? it would be nice if that were displayed so it's clearer why you can't buy stuff.

Yes, there's a Glyph limit, but there's also a modifier for Glyphs, Shadowed, that makes them not count towards this. I understood only this glyph limit because I found one of those early, if I'm honest.

Ah thanks for posting this, it made me realise I’ve accidentally hidden the current/max glyph counter from the UI but I’ll get it added back in for the next patch, maybe along with a popup when you try and buy one at max. Thanks!

This game feels amazing.

Hello, If you could, could you provide an html download for the game? I would like to host it through a vps server so I can play it at school. Thanks!

Kenny, this game is almost amazing. but the physics system feels so busted compared to something like Demon’s Tilt. it’s nearly impossible to consistently make shots in this, even before all the modifiers.

I really love the concept, I just hope you can fix the physics so it feels like pinball, and not just completely out of control at all times.

(I’ve got a 240hz monitor, so maybe there’s something with the timings that’s busted at higher frame rates? I dunno, it just feels completely impossible to make shots as things are)

(+1)

Hey, I completely agree! The phyics has been a major bugbear for ages but almost everytime I try and address it, it ends up getting worse and I end up undoing all my changes. I'm clamping the ball speed at a really high rate for example, which means consecutive bouncing goes absolutely nuts, but lowering it causes the inital flipper contact not to apply enough force to get the ball up fast enough. And I'll not even start on some of the horrid angles the ball travels in from the flippers.

The right 'feel' is just such a hard thing to get right. Demons Tilt and Xenotilt are both a huge influence on this game (they completely melted my brain and retinas though so I actually kinda set out to create something a bit more chill and easier to follow for an amateur) and I do boot them up every now and again to compare how things feel, and CoP is always left feeling lacklustre by comparison.

I'm on it though, I will get the feeling right at some point if even it kills me! The next update has some minor changes to this, let me know if you see any imporvement but in my heart I know it's still way off.

honestly fantastic response, and I love both those games so much, so you’re definitely aiming for the right targets!

I’ll definitely give you feedback after the next release, for sure, and let you know how it feels compared to right now, since I feel like nailing the game feel is really the key to making this game a bit of a breakaway hit.

I love everything else you’re doing here, so I’ll definitely wishlist it on steam, now that I know how passionate you are about getting the feel right. keep it up! 😁

(+1)

thank you so much that means a lot, I will do!

alright, just played the latest update. feels like there was some balancing that happened, and also maybe some physics tweaks? had a somewhat easier time making shots after the update, don’t know if that’s coincidental or not. in any case, looking forward to future updates!

(+1)

hey thanks for coming back to check out the changes! There has indeed been some fixes to the physics, also some optimisations which improved the flipper response time which helped a lot as well I think. Still more to come, I should have another update out later today or possibly tomorrow, I’m hoping this continues to build on it even further but would be good to hear your thoughts when it’s up

just tried out the latest patch, controls are feeling even a little bit better it seems. definitely had an easier time playing tonight than previously, anyway. and did you add some more mechanics and table design stuff? there was definitely fun things in there that I didn’t remember seeing before (like the upper area bumper that got up and started crawling around, loved it! 😹

sadly, a chromebook can not run this well :[

Ah that's a shame, I do have a graphics settings menu coming in the next update (within a week or so) which should allow for lowering resolution, texture quality etc. Hopefully that will help!

I cant wait to see :]

gonna play on something other than a Mac so I dont have to use safari then I will comment here later

ive been missing out

Hey, I did try to get a fix up for safari but clearly it's not working. Mac build is on the way though, the next update will include a (very untested) first attempt, if you could let me know if it works I'd be hugely grateful! Should be later this week hoepfully

(+1)

ok ill try it out when I can thanks

This is GREAT!

Love this, thank you so much for making it!

yo this is pinball at its PEAK 🔥

hahaha thank you!! 🔥🔥

Super fun and nice graphics!

This is great fun! and the visuals are gorgeous!! Awesome work!

Awesome, so glad to hear it thanks for playing!

SK/CZ LET'S PLAY!!!

I remember when I was a kid and played Pinball on the old Microsoft XP Professional. That was kind of experience. I imagined it as that ball is the space ship and it is shooting the enemies and monsters, going on different planets and so...

This game put me back into that kid's nostalgia, but it hit differently this time. Now it was like I was imagining it back then! Of course it is not a space ship nor space themed table, but it was really close to that imagined experience.

REALLY GREAT GAME, KEEP IT UP!!!

HOPEFULLY YOU WILL RELEASE IT ASAP ON STEAM AND OTHER PLATFORMS SO YOU CAN START MAKING PROFIT OF IT!

GREAT CONCEPT AND GREAT GAME!!!

(+1)

that was the exact inspiration for this! I’m so glad it resonated with you, and I’m 100% planning on a Steam (and other platforms) launch, the page is in the description - feel free to give it a wishlist :P !

I have wishlisted it, so it will boost your game

(+1)

thank you SO much!

not bad, kinda wish the boss had slightly different modifiers tho

thanks for playing! Tbh I tried to combine multiple traits from the smaller bumpers into one for the boss (things like moving + pushes ball away etc) but it never quite felt right so I ended up with the tentacles approach instead. What kind of modifiers were you thinking? Agree that it could do with something else going on I just can’t think of what!

Awesome concept, this game is really fun and catchy. Are you planning a release outside steam also?

(+1)

hey thats awesome to hear, thank you! Yeah I’m planning on a few platforms but will post more about those when I can confirm when :)

I really like the concept of the game, but couldn't really play cause I don't have a mouse atm. Could there be a way that you could change the setting to were you can change the keybinds or something like that?

hey hey, you should be able to play with just a Keyboard (or controller) with left/right CTRL for flippers and Space to nudge, all of which can be rebound from the Settings Menu (press Esc, Controls - Keyboard). Let me know if you have any issues with any of that and I’ll do what I can to help!

(+1)

I really like the idea, it's really nice !

Thank you! I’ve still got a lot to add so hopefully it’ll be even better soon

been a very long time since i enjoyed a pinball. like early windows era.

great take on it, cool art too and the mods and rng pickups and stuff make pinball way more fun

thank you thank you! And also thanks for playing :)
