Reposting my loving review from Steam because I want more people to know how great this VN is!!!:
This game is sentimental and haunting in ways I never expected. I walked into it expecting a Lovecraftian romance and mystery with some timeloop elements. And sure, it's that but much less emphasis on romance than I thought. Instead, it uses Lovecraftian worldbuilding to expound upon our relationship with identity, humanity, memory, endings, and beginnings.
One person called it the "Dark Souls of visual novels" and that's not far off. You NEED to die (but you MUST try, don't misunderstand) in order to keep unraveling the story. What happened? Are you truly who you think are? Is Ilar? The luccasi? The sage who greets you in death? What transpired between you and Ilar? What were you two? Is there any hope of being that ever again?
The answer will hurt. And then you play again. And the answer will hurt. And then you play again. And every answer will hurt, but you must keep going. You cannot give up, because Vyn won't either. You *will* be disoriented. Your own internal clock on what happened in a given run will mix indistinguishably (which I LOVED because that's exactly how Vyn would feel). It'll feel hopeless sometimes. But every time you fight for a memory—just one more flashback with Ilar—it's so incredibly rewarding. And then it ends. You remember where you truly are. The things you lost. But somehow, it doesn't leave you emptier than before. There's this undefeatable warmth.
I guess what I'm trying to say is that this game is beautiful. And I'll be eagerly awaiting this studio's future releases. Their game design is unlike anything I've seen before and their command of storytelling so exciting. Well done, Square Weasel.
WHY IS THIS GAME SO UNDERRATED? I bought it on Steam. Graphics, music, ILLAR? HELLOOO, it's TOP TIER. Honestly, the whole game is beautifully written, and I'm incredibly impressed. I was totally looking for something like this. The character of Ilar, the mystery and how he lies and manipulates us in every route, after every... Death. This is really great work 🥺
Hello! I seen this game was reuploaded by another person who wasnt you, I already reported the page but i wanted to bring this to your attention as well
This story was beautiful from start to finish! It was a delight to discover new paths, new dialogue, new hints to figure out the truth. The characters are so endearing, and the art is stunning! Thank you so much for creating such a unique experience, I truly fell in love with the world of Tal'Dun and will definitely check out anything you make in the future :D
There is an achievement that I am struggling to get though, it is the "Dreams to Ashes" one. I have already seen the true ending(s) and am not sure how to unlock it? I tried using the old guide, but the achievement doesn't seem to exist in the old version (or if it does, the requirements might have changed).
I'm so glad to hear you enjoyed our game! As for the Dreams to ashes achievement: you unlock it if you keep the bird letter you find in the grimoire for later. When you return to Ilar the scene where two of you struggle for it ensues and if you are on good terms with them, it results in you seeing the memory together. However, if you are at bad terms with Ilar at that point, something different will happen. Let me know if this helps or if you need a more help.
Thank you so much for your reply, I unlocked it! ^^ For some reason, I had assumed that this had to do with the shards from the Hermit section of the game.
Anyway thank you again for such a wonderful work, I honestly don't know how you managed to incorporate so many variables and alternative dialogue into the writing. Even after 15+ hours of playtime, I was still discovering new things by just trying different choices, that's amazing.
i adore this story, the art, the complicated route pathing; it really made me have to think! i also cried a few different times during the story, which says alot if characters can illicit strong emotions in their players. Also giving two gender characters to choose from is super immersive and i was happy i could play however i wanted to. i can not wait for this team to make another game like this, with this art style as well. its so beautiful and haunting, and the characters are all stunning to look at. i loved how wonderful and heart rending the romantic endings can get. UGH MY HEART! i will definitely come back and buy whatever you all put out. 10/10
I’m currently playing it right now and I’m really enjoying it! I’m trying to get the emotional ending and following the guide, but I cannot for the life of me get the
“Inhale, exhale. I WILL stay calm.”
and because I can’t get this option, I can’t get the ending. How do I trigger it?

Aw, that's mighty kind of you!
We don't know either! Maybe we're just new, don't know how to market, or who knows!
If you wanna help, feel free to tell people whom you think would enjoy the game about it.
We'll get there one day!
:)
This game is so unique!!! I love it
