We give free legal help in some situations. To be eligible, your problem needs to be something that we can help with. For many of our programs you will need to meet other eligibility criteria, like your income, for example.

As a charity, we prioritise helping people who are most in need.
What happens next
We'll ask you a few questions and match you with any of our services that may be able to assist.

You can then complete full applications for assistance with the services in this tool. You control how much information you provide.

You do not need to provide your identifying information until the last step of this process, when you can decide if you would like to submit a formal application.

How we use and what we do with your personal information

The personal information that you provide to us in this application is used to make an assessment about whether we are able to provide you with a service or refer you to another service provider.

We respect your privacy and confidential information, and have designed robust systems to protect your information.

Some of our services are delivered by our lawyers in our pro bono network. We may share your information with these lawyers for the purposes of finding you legal assistance.

We will not share your personal information with other service providers (other than lawyers that we are trying to recruit to provide you with legal assistance) without first seeking your consent.

We may use deidentified and anonymised information collected to improve our products and services.

We collect, use, disclose and store your personal information in accordance with our privacy policy.

Justice Connect can provide legal assistance to small businesses if they are part of a charity or community organisation that operates for the benefit of the community (if this sounds like you, please see Justice Connect's Not-for-profit Law service).
Have you been affected by a natural disaster?
Justice Connect may be able to assist with small business problems where your small business (including farms) has been affected by a natural disaster.

For a Not-for-profit organisation

Justice Connect’s Not-for-profit Law program provides free and affordable legal support to Australian charities, not-for-profits and social enterprises.

The Not-for-profit Law program:

– gives legal advice to eligible organisations that help marginalised or disadvantaged members and can’t afford or have difficulty in accessing legal help

– has hundreds of freely available online resources, including fact sheets, guides and self-help tools, to help at all stages of an organisation’s lifecycle, from getting started all the way to ending an organisation, and

– delivers low-cost, easy to understand webinars and customised legal training to help organisations make sense of the law.
