So this administration wants some Diversity in the guest list, an Equitable amount of airtime, and to be Included in the conversation?

One of the things I’m missing on the Lemmy side of the fediverse is more in depth nuanced answers like this. One of my favorite parts of reddit was going into r/ space and finding Andromeda(can’t remember the exact username) explaining some crazy thing the JWST or Hubble just discovered because they were an actual astrophysicist or in some cases had actually worked on the project.
I know it’s a blessing and a curse to have a smaller user base but I miss the possibility of running into people smarter than me giving context and background on a subject that I am a layman or even unaware of in some cases. r/ economics was a great example of a place where I have very little background in, but find interesting enough to read the articles posted. I would then head to the comments to hope someone posted an eli5 or at least some related background information.
I’ve tried adding my own expertise to the mix, but my background is a niche military specialty so other than explaining the background of Warrant Officer Ridley from the movie Alien, I haven’t been able to add much of my own knowledge base.
M51: The Whirlpool Galaxy
Image Credit & Copyright: Michael Sleeman
Explanation: The Whirlpool Galaxy is a classic spiral galaxy. At only 30 million light years distant and fully 60 thousand light years across, M51, also known as NGC 5194, is one of the brightest and most picturesque galaxies on the sky. The featured deep image is a digital combination of images taken in different colors over 58 hours with a telescope from Lijiang, China. Anyone with a good pair of binoculars, however, can see this Whirlpool toward the constellation of the Hunting Dogs (Canes Venatici). M51 is a spiral galaxy of type Sc and is the dominant member of a whole group of galaxies. Astronomers speculate that M51’s spiral structure is primarily due to its gravitational interaction with the smaller galaxy just above it.

If Kelly wins this case I hope it is used as evidence at Kegsbreath’s impeachment.

That’s what I would have thought about those Can-Am three wheelers but I see them all over the southeast US.

You don’t think people might rent them? Like in tourist destinations. Can’t pack your riding gear but don’t want/need a car kind of thing.

Well he’s stunningly stupid, so I’m not sure this is news as much as a “yeah, no duh” article.

Astronomers detected this exceptionally bright FRB, formally referred to as FRB 20250316A, in March from the direction of the Big Dipper using the CHIME radio telescope in British Columbia. They’re referring to the flash as “RBFLOAT” for “Radio Brightest Flash Of All Time.” The flash produced more energy in a few milliseconds than our Sun produces in four days.

Great for 99% of the population. Really only detrimental to those 2800 people and the bootlickers protecting them.

They might mean Jonestown 2.0 where a US congressman attempted to investigate the cult and was killed in the process.

This song pumps me up so much. The video is a must watch!

This is an older article, but I think this is what they are talking about.

Interesting. Until this committee checks into this little “gift” I saw we give her a pass. I’m not one for whataboutism, but I think this deserves an exception.

So like 3 Lego sets? Those things aren’t cheap these days!
One of those rare cases where meeting a hero might not be so bad
