This page details what the catchment areas are and the circumstances of which an out of catchment area placement may be agreed or contested.
Primary Schools in Guernsey accept children from a specific area of the Island known as the school's catchment area. Your child will normally attend the school in the catchment area where you live.
From September 2019, there has been a 'partner school' system for secondary admissions, instead of allocation by catchment area. For those moving to Guernsey with children in Years 7 and above, allocations will still be based on your primary school catchment area, which is then used to determine the partner school.
What catchment area am I in?
- The States online mapping service, Digimap, provides simple maps showing the Primary catchment areas. These maps can be accessed using the external links below. Just type in your postcode and it will indicate your school catchment area.

- Primary age pupils in Alderney attend St Anne's School. There is also a small school on the Island of Herm. Sark School falls outside of the States of Guernsey's control.
