Afro-Anishinaabe, disabled, 2spirit member and educator of the Toronto urban Indigenous community found herself locked out of her home. Neno is currently staying with friends and is safe.

Neno will be having significant surgery shortly and will be needing a space of their own to recover and recuperate.

Finding an affordable space to rent in the GTA is increasingly difficult, but we are reaching out to the larger community and settlers to help provide funds to get Neno back on their feet again.

Nenookaasi has been a longstanding member of the urban Indigenous community and has done work coast to coast to uplift Indigenous performance art, support and amplify the Afro-Indigenous community, deliver medicines to urban Indigenous peoples, and provide education for both Indigenous peoples and settlers.

We are asking folks to help support and amplify this Gofundme so that Neno can secure housing, moving costs, and any additional expenses to help set up in a new space and recover post-surgery.
