*** Edit: Note that you can use this plugin to add startup marquee video support if you are using BigBox's native marquee handling. However, I recommend you switch to my new plugIn, ThirdScreen, for startup marquee video support because it also adds support for platform marquee videos and unlimited screens. *** Plugin that adds Marquee Intro video support. After installing the plugin you can simply place your Marquee intro videos into the LaunchBox/Videos/StartupMarquee folder. One will be chosen randomly at startup. Static images (jpg or png) will work as well. The marquee video will always automatically end at the same time as the main screen intro video. If the marquee video is shorter than the main screen video, it will loop until the main screen video ends (or until you hit a button to skip the intro). See demo: Installation: Unzip the file and drop the contents into your LaunchBox folder. Place your marquee startup video(s) into LaunchBox/Videos/StartupMarquee. You of course have to make sure your marquee screen is set up first in your BigBox settings: Set your marquee screen number in Options->General->Marquee Screen If you want the intro video to stretch fill the entire marquee, then set Options->Marquee Screen->Set Marquee Images to Fill the Screen If you have a cut-off type marquee, then make sure your screen compatibility mode is set correctly in Options->Marquee Screen->Screen Hardware Compatibility Mode. Currently this plugin does not support the squeeze 1/2 or squeeze 1/3 modes, but all of the following screen compatibility modes are supported: - None - Monitor Cuts Off Bottom 1/2 - Monitor Cuts Off Top 1/2 - Monitor Cuts Off Bottom 2/3 - Monitor Cuts Off Top 2/3 - Monitor Cuts Off 1/3 Top and Bottom

This theme gives you the ability to specify the startup images you want per game or platform. I created this as I wanted to display controller mapping for each game as it loads to go with the Game Control FS pause theme by @Retro808 and did not see a startup theme that already existed for this. It will display any image you have or create that is game or platform specific when the game loads. It displays the LaunchBox default "Game Over" screen with a clear logo added when a game is exited. All images must be placed in a specific folder structure and follow a standard LaunchBox naming convention to work with this theme. Instruction are provided in the read me text file in the download. The theme uses .png images by default but can easily be modified (1 edit) to use .jpg images.

  4. I have never seen this issue before but I setup a new launchbox instance on a removable drive...connected it to a new pc...tried starting both launchbox and bigbox but the error in the attachment. No clue what to do or how to resolve this
  5. Hi guys, exists a way for to put a video that start when i close big box ? As startup but for close at the end. Please if yes, tell me how to do. Thanks.
  6. In this post I am specifically referring to the PCSX2 emulator, but I noticed it does this with other emulators as well. In LaunchBox, when I go to Tools/Gameplay/Game Startup and select "Use Game Startup Screen", I lose the ability to see my mouse cursor when I minimize out of PCSX2. (I play PCSX2 games in fullscreen.) I have selected and deselected the "Hide Mouse Cursor on Startup Screens" and it only pertains to the actual moment the Startup screen is occurring. (With "Use Game Startup Screen" not selected) I can press escape, the game will pause, and my mouse cursor is visible while I navigate my desktop or other opened windows. To return to game, I focus the PCSX2 interface and select system/resume. Or, I can alt + tab out and the game will continue playing in the background while I navigate my desktop or other opened windows. To return to game, I select the window the game is playing in. (With "Use Game Startup Screen" selected) I press escape, the game pauses and I see my PCSX2 interface against a blank(black) desktop. I cannot see my cursor, but I can activate links if I blindly navigate to them using my mouse. If I use alt + tab, the game continues playing while I select another window with the alt + tab function, but my mouse cursor is invisible. I notice there is a window opened called "Launchbox Game Startup". If I select this window using the alt + tab function I see the Game Over Screen, and the screen will disappear shortly after being revealed. Then my mouse becomes visible and I can navigate and resume normally. Is there a mouse cursor option in the LaunchBox settings that I am missing? This is my first time using the LaunchBox Community Forum. Forgive me if I didn't post this in the right place or if I went about this wrong.

  13. I've had an issue with LaunchBox showing the desktop and Big Box showing the menu screen for a second right after the startup screen but before MAME starts. I finally narrowed it down to my MAME HLSL setting being enabled. When HLSL is disabled I have no issue at all with LaunchBox or Big Box startups. Is there a workaround for this or am I missing an extra setting to add? I've played with the LaunchBox emulator specific startup load delay, aggressive startup window hiding, and hide all windows that are not in exclusive fullscreen mode with no luck. Any help would really be appreciated!

Startup/Exit Theme that matches the Fading Elegance theme. Designed with 4k Large Screens & TVs in mind. "Fading Elegance v1" and "Fading Elegance v1+" Theme Matching Pause Theme - can be used with any theme of course The star-burst smoothly slides in from the right resting behind the Clear Logog and then continues to rotate making it look like a live star. There's a green animated loading bar above the "NOW LOADING (not in real-time)" Funny Fact - Look at the Play Count on the screenshot; well I used the 4 different 007 games in Gamecube to test my changes every time I would make a change. Between the 4 games in my collection, I have played them 430 times when you add them together. Thats a lot of starting and stopping. - The video shows the Startup, Pause and Exit -Enjoy
  16. Hello to all, LaunchBox does not update the playlist views after startup. Only the first two or three rows are displayed. To make the view look complete, I always have to scroll up and down with the mouse. I can reproduce this behavior also on a freshly installed LaunchBox setup. But this only happens, when any side bar is enabled - like left "LaunchBox Side Bar" or the "Game Details" on the right side ... When both side bars are disabled, then LaunchBox shows all game entries correctly ... Please have also a look to the attached screenshots - maybe it makes for you easier to understand. Is this a known issue? BTW: i use "Steam Banners" view

  22. Hello Everyone, I just got my arcade up and running and everything has been running great. I updated to 11.6 the other day and have opened BigBox quite a few times since then and everything was still good up until today. Now, every time that I try to open BigBox, it throws this error. When I press close and try to reopen BigBox, it says that the program is still running so I kill it in task manager and the same problem happens. I am not sure what to do. Any suggestions on how to fix or troubleshoot? Is this a known issue? 23. Hi Everybody, I have made good progress in my Launchbox configuration, and now everything is working perfectly. (I still thank Retro808 very much for their precious help with the configuration of UCR). Today I have two points to fix. I would : Perfectly hide the teknoparrot launcher. Hide the UCR window that appears a few seconds before launching a PC game. I'm putting you a video so you can see what's working well and what's bothering me. https://youtu.be/oYK7-gf5Gc4 For everything else, arcade and console games, it's perfect ! Thank you, see you later. PS: my spoken English makes me laugh ^^
  24. Hey, I've been using this program for a while, and LOVE the heck out of it. I have had a sort of odd experience, though. The drive I had my setup on was getting corrupted, I moved the setup to a different drive, and now the program just refuses to start. Any ideas will be useful. More info provided as needed. Almost forgot: I created a blank install of the program in the same directory I placed the one that's crashing, and that one works fine. EDIT: I figured out the issue, the executable files were damaged. I overwrote them with good files, and everything works. Now to get on to trying to get it to be the way I want (I had edited it a lot, and lost the place where it felt 'right').
  25. [Edit: SOLVED (sort of) - see my reply below. Warning: Registry editing involved, high risk variable] This is a question for folks that have experience setting up BigBox as their startup shell, either through regedit, group policy, or other third-party methods. After I set BigBox to my shell variable in regedit, I was pleased to see that it booted directly in, but I quickly discovered that I had lost keyboard control of my volume, and that JoytoKey (in my startup folder) was not working for the one game I have it configured for (Pokemon Uranium). I dug around in the forums and only found one link that even partially referenced my startup program issue near the end of the thread, but there didn't seem to be an answer (or at least a clear enough one for me to follow). My guess is that since explorer.exe isn't running as the default shell, it doesn't run certain services related to it, like volume control via keyboard, startup folder items, etc. Has anyone else run into this issue, and if so, how did you resolve it? Is there some way I can enable services that are native to the default shell to run with BigBox? Thanks in advance for any help or advice regarding this issue!
